One year ago today, One year ago today, I was in Washington D.C. I was given the honor of opening the speaker portion of the March for Racial Justice. @CSPANc-span.org/video/?c474557…
For a moment today, I thought to myself...I don't know how I managed because I was pretty broken. My entire life had fallen apart just a week before, I had no money, I had no home and my heart was shattered and I honestly didn't think I was going to make it to D.C.

RAPE HAPPENS. FALSE RAPE ACCUSATIONS HAPPEN. One does not negate the other & should not be use to invalidate the experiences of those who have been raped & those falsely accused of rape, just as FEAR of rape & FEAR of accusations of rape should not be used to vilify each other.
Seriously. FEAR is valid, no matter how irrational it is. But FEAR is not justification for discrimination, hate, rape, or any other form of violence. This is America & we already know how FEAR has been weaponized to divide us politically, socially, economically, racially, etc

#femaleblackout...Why do I get the feeling this ridiculous thing was concocted by a White Feminist, especially since Blackout Day is a day in March to celebrate Black Voices and Excellence.
*SMH* #FemaleBlackoutDay.....LITERALLY Silencing women....GTFOH. Guess I'm gonna be a little louder today, a little more present cuz I will not be silenced and definitely not gonna silence myself.

Uber Driver: "As a man, I'm terrified that at any time a woman can accuse me of rape."
Before I could even open my mouth to say anything, the other passenger, also a guy, said "Why? You the kind of guy that could be accused of rape?
Uber Driver: What the fuck kind of guy is that? Good men get accused of rape all the time.
Passenger dude: Good men do not accused of rape all the time. I've been with a lot of women in my 47 years and not once have I been accused of rape nor have I worried about it.

It's only 10 am and I feel so defeated today. I don't have overdraft protection on my account because I didn't want to be able to go over and I should have asked questions earlier because my account has been overdrawn a few times but usually no more than a few cents to a dollar
I was worried about a charge not going through because I knew I didn't have enough to cover it...it went through and I got a notice that my account was overdrawn by 7.35 cents...no problem. I deposited money to my account and all was good til this morning.

This article was so cringeworthy but I applaud @ScottHarrisMMA because he tried. It's not easy to write about Native experiences or to give context when you don't understand it and Nicco definitely deserves more recognition, but man it was tough to get through.
and the line about her marketability needing a scalpel and not a tomahawk...WTF? This article went back & forth, condemning stereotypes but also relying on them. It's hard for Natives to trust non-native journalists, it's 50/50..they get it right or really fuck up

Nothing is more heartbreaking than to see a non-native organizations like @2SpiritHealth misappropriating and colonizing the term two-spirit.
If you are NOT Native....you are NOT Two-Spirit. If you are NOT Native....you do NOT get to claim Two-Spirit identity. You are NOT entitled to Two-Spirit identity. The term Two-Spirit is not an umbrella term for LGBTQ identities.

LOL so weird night, went to the comedy store while wearing my #oxdx misrep tee, got sat at the front of the stage and one of the comics commented on my "indians" shirt, when I pointed out his mistake, he barked no one fucking cares 😂😂 yeah we know white man, hence the tee
It made me think of this because when it comes to comedy, hey I'm all for racially charged comedy when it is done right..when it toes the line between indecency and complete vulgarity and jumps right over that line while remaining satirical and not racist

The misogyny here is disgusting.
If your girl beats or gets beat by another woman...that is between them and the law....NOT YOU. If a girl threatens your life and given your penchant for calling women bitches, I'd assume it was because she was protecting herself from you.
Seriously. I'm trying to picture this and I'm seeing a lot of guy on guy action going on if this were true seeing as how Geek Culture is male dominated and the women now making waves are probably in the same situation I am.

You know, I've always supported @JournalRecord for the support that they've shown to the women in Oklahoma doing amazing things for their communities. So, to read @JRSarahTC's article diminishing the accomplishments and work of a highly educated Native woman is very disappointing
Further, it is disappointing to see @JRsarahtc and any woman as a matter of fact promoting sexism. Throughout her article, Anthony vs McCray: A Battle of Polar Opposites, quotes from Keith Gaddie, Bud Ground, and Lee Paden are stepped in overt gender bias
When you've paid almost all your bills for the coming month and you go to pay the last one all proud and your card is declined, you check your balance and your -$1.35
I should have paid this one first but didn't realize it was overdue til I tried to pay this morning but where I really messed up was not realizing my balance didn't reflect the impending charges when I was making payments yesterday. Seriously, FML

The epitome of toxic white feminism. @ENBrown downplays the seriousness of sexual violence towards Native women. If this study had included more Native women, results would be similar. The rates of violence we experience are catastrophic & 2.5 - 10x higher than national averages
Her belief these statistics obscure real problems 😑Real problems because violence towards Indigenous women isn't a real problem? Or is this leading into but "All women experience violence" bullshit that discounts the experiences of Native women, poc & marginalized communities?

It's been a weird day on what should have been a payday...a happy day for me. Always get shit in writing. Did a job a month ago, sent invoice all seemed good until today when the money was not in my account. Called and they decided not to use my work and or pay for it.
So & so's kid was able to do it for them for free. The pettiness in me wants to put them on blast, bully them into paying what they owe me for the work I did but at the same time I can't help but get the feeling that NOT being able to pay was the issue

Dayum....@NYMag apparently doesn't have fact checkers or maybe they just don't care about journalistic integrity. Either way, Oklahoma was not an empty patch of prairie. There were towns, communities and homesteads that were overrun and literally taken over by white settlers.
Entire Free Black and Native communities were forced out of their homes, farmlands, and businesses...the idea that white settlers taking part in the Land Run built Oklahoma from ground up is such whitewashed chunk of bullshit.

Okay, so here's the reality. Native people struggle financially, not all, but a good deal of us. We have jobs, own business, go to school, have families, have disabilities and needs that just aren't being met because of the unpredictability of life.
Last year, I was happy because I had done it. I had broken the cycle of poverty, i was finally making money from my work, bills were paid, i had everything I needed and I was happy because I was also able to give back financially as well.

FML FML FML Seriously....seriously.....seriously. I had some kind folx help me out yesterday and got my -46 bux to -5 and now unless I can get $25 dollars by the end of the day, I'm gonna get hit with another overdraft fee.
I can't complain about this auto-payment though because it's an amount that help sponsor a science class in need of supplies for its students. I just forgot about it.

Why do I do the work I do? Why do I care so much about the murdered and missing Indigenous women? Why do I care so much about Violence towards Indigenous women?
The answer is easy. I am a human being. I am an Indigenous woman. I am a daughter, granddaughter, niece, aunt, and sister. I am a survivor, I am the daughter, niece and granddaughter and descendant of survivors, of strong, intelligent and beautiful matriarchs.

Colonizers, please! They want to "set land aside" for a Native American Nation, as if our Tribes aren't already Sovereign nations and as if they won't be taking land and further displacing and marginalizing Cali's Indigenous people.
If @YesCalifornia was interested in righting the wrongs, the Indigenous people of Cali would have already had a seat at the table w/plans for full restoral of their homelands, rent/lease options for NNs holding land ownership & they would be developing the structure of government

Whoa Whoa.... so we all know that @facebook is extremely ANTI-INDIGENOUS and please don't hijack this thread to talk about it's other faults, I know about them and I'm here to talk about it's treatment of Native peoples.
So, @facebook is known to ban Native people for having Native names. Folks opposing and attacking Natives have often taken advantage of that fact by reporting Native accounts as Fake Accounts and Fake Names and getting them shut down until they provided proof to Facebook
