Fun Marc Elias (of Perkins Coie) tweets:

1/ Andy McCabe shot up the FBI hierarchy at a stunning pace. He seemed intent on getting to the very top, and he accomplished that goal through a few lateral movements and positioning towards the end.... 2/ In Aug 2015, McCabe moved from Washington Field Office to FBIHQ, receiving the job of Associate Deputy Director. This seems to have been a (Comey sanctioned?) holding position, waiting for FBI long-timer Mark Giuliano to retire, which happened in Jan 2016.

This could be a big deal if the moveon.org protest is triggered. Reminder that the original "red line" on the moveon protests were if Mueller were fired.

Then in January 2018 that evolved to include Rosenstein being fired or if "key witnesses" are pardoned.

A TON of people are signed up for these protests. Remains to be seen if they'll come

Comparing the first batch of Strzok-Page texts to the second batch has some interesting quirks. For example... This is pretty opaque (from the second batch).

My goodness:
"In fact, the FBI already had an open counterintelligence case on Page when he became a volunteer on Trump’s foreign policy team in January 2016, according to sources familiar with the matter." "Near the end of July 2016, Steele sent the FBI agent in Rome (Gaeta) the opposition research on Trump he generated working for Fusion GPS."

This is different than previous testimony. It was thought this happened around July 5...

1/ A few editorial thoughts about Carter Page that didn’t fit into earlier thread:
2/ It makes perfect sense that domestic and foreign intelligence would have their eye on Carter Page. He’s a globetrotter by choice, so there are no funny looks when he books a flight to foreign countries or talks to foreigners.

1/ Mega timeline thread centered around @carterwpage. Disclaimer: this is just from open source data and as we know there is a lot of disinformation out there. Hope at least this serves as a summary 2/ Carter W. Page. Born in Minnesota, raised in Poughkeepsie, NY. Eagle Scout.

Out of high school goes to US Naval Academy in Annapolis. Ends up graduating with academic honors (top 10% of class) in 1993

Oh by the way, another Andy/Andrew to consider when reading the Strzok-Page texts:
Andrew Castor He's referred to as "Castor" in the texts a lot but I bet he's an "Andy" sometimes too...

OK now we need to seriously ask the question if "Andy's Office" referred to Weissmann and not McCabe Because they use Andy interchangeably...

1/ Russiagate is and always has been the dodge from answering to hard questions Hillary Clinton's use of a private server.

The focus on Russia shifts attention away from China. Putting blame on "shady" Trump shifts attention from Clintonworld's carelessness. 2/ HRC was licking her lips to shift the debate into the foreign policy realm because she felt she could mop the floor with Trump there.

The HRC campaign knew that they could siphon GOP establishment types (including Paul Ryan & Marco Rubio) from Trump by pounding Trump-Russia

Cliff Kincaid was the first to report Flynn's trip to Russia and low-key hints that it's linked to Flynn's book deal
aim.org/special-report… "Flynn’s attendance at the RT conf was shocking not only b/c Putin is an evil ruler whose regime murders opposition figures and truly independent journalists, but b/c Flynn was critical in the past about the damage done by...Snowden, who escaped to Russia"

#GenFlynn centric timeline. The progression of events is fascinating to isolate... Sep 2003-McChrystal becomes JSOC commander. Flynn is intelligence chief. They reform the way units use intel. Putting it on the front lines

Jan 2010-Flynn releases paper called "Fixing Intel" all about integrating intel. Published by a think tank while Flynn in Afghanistan

1/ From Showtime special "The Putin Interviews" by Oliver Stone. If you haven't checked it out already, you should. It's really a fascinating look at US-Russian relations without all the propaganda filters. Below is Putin talking about John McCain: 2/
OLIVER STONE: And it seems we have Senator McCain, for example, today or yesterday, was proposing a veto, a Senate veto, of any lifting of sanctions from Trump, in advance.

PUTIN: You know, unfortunately, there are many senators like that in the United States...

1/ Konstantin Kilimnik would be the perfect source for Steele's 2014/15 memos:
1) Based in Kiev, so could collect the on-the-ground situation there day to day for whatever Orbis clients wanted that
2) Ties to Manafort and Gates, so could hand info about them to Deripaska 2/ When Manafort joined campaign, Kilimnik was definitely in the loop, getting an email "days later" saying the famous "how do we use to get whole."

Kilimnik was also the intermediary for the July 7 message to Deripaska "If he needs private briefings we can accommodate."

It makes sense that Deripaska would hire Steele to produce intel reports for anything regarding Ukraine. Rusal has a refinery in Mykolaiv that the Ukrainian government was trying to nationalize. Deripaska likely wanted any edge to protect his interests there Ukraine has been so volatile since late 2013 that everyone is probably looking for insight on whats going on

1/ A running theme of the Russiagate #resist misdirection operation is using federal agency logos and the "reputations" of former government officials to bring credibility to whatever propaganda is being pushed. For example... 2/ The Oct 7 2016 joint statement on Russian interference prominently displayed the logos of DHS and ODNI. And even that was rhetorically expanded by HRC to include all "17 agencies" of the intelligence community

This article is still a mind twister:
cnn.com/2017/05/26/pol… "Comey knew that a critical piece of information relating to the investigation into Clinton's email was fake...but he feared that if it became public it would undermine the probe and the Justice Department itself, *according to multiple officials with knowledge of the process*."

The FISA Amendments Act “legalized and blessed any communications intercept between and American and a foreigner. The foreigner did not have to be a terrorist suspect: he merely had to be ‘reasonably’ suspected of having foreign intelligence value... ...Nor did he even have to be actually overseas; he merely had to be ‘reasonably’ suspected of being overseas during the time of interception. Approvals came from the FISA court in bulk, annually.” -The Snowden Files by Luke Harding

There is a name we don't know, and might not know for a while.

He was Steele's "collector"

From @jsolomonReports:
"Much of the collection about the Trump campaign ties to Russia comes from a former Russian intelligence officer (? not entirely clear) who lives in the U.S.,” Later in the piece:
"What Simpson allegedly told Ohr was not from Moscow...but from a reported Russian in the United States who later seemed to disappear...

...(was) that Russian was part of a ‘kompromat' operation to further roil the U.S. election rather than a whistleblower?"
