1/ So the right bemoans folks of color 'playing the race card' or claiming to be victims of racism (even when they are), then insists (#TuckerCarlson) that criticism of #BiffKav is little more than 'anti-white' racism & proof we don't want white men to have nice things... 2/ Aside from the blinding hypocrisy (which is typical: right-wingers play victim better than anyone...victims of big gub'mint, and Muslims and gays and humanists and feminists and immigrants, etc), note the simple factual absurdity of the argument...

1/ It must b possible 2 say something abt John McCain that is neither hagiographic worship on the 1 hand nor 'fuck that war criminal' on the other. 1/ Perhaps the most maddening thing about the conservative/libertarian/"classical liberal" response to inequality is how utterly self-contradictory it is, and yet how rarely people acknowledge it. Please follow along... 2/ So, on the 1 hand, these folks say inequality is due 2 bad choices by those who are struggling or on the bottom of various heriarchies. Whether working class/poor, people of color, women as women, the explanation is: behavior, lack of responsibility, the wrong mindeset, etc..

That's what it sounds like when they say "Put 'black' in any of her anti-white tweets and it's OBVIOUSLY racist!"... 2/ First, I've read the "offending" tweets (a hundred or more) going around and which some like @sullydish consider so damning. (1) What's amazing about the Trump/Putin meeting is how incredibly unintelligent Trump was to have no one in the room with him. He probably thought that would protect him from exposure, but actually it makes the risk of exposure and blackmail by Russia even greater... (2) It means Putin could say Trump promised x, y or z thing, even if he didn't, just to sow more chaos in U.S. politics. While Trump thinks Putin really likes him & wants 2 protect him, Putin only seeks to promote political instability in America for his/Russia's own sake...

1/ I think everyone would prefer that the day-to-day political discourse in this country not descend into hostility and that people could speak rationally to one another about their differences. A few problems though... 2/ First off, these "differences" are not boiler-plate types, like disagreeing over tax policy or trade or the military budget or any number of other things. The differences now are quite literally about whether you support splitting families and denying them due process...

1/ Honestly, the Trump policy of separating families at the border is rooted in a few simple things: 1) a dehumanization of border crossers, who are seen as criminals rather than persons desperate for life and liberty (in ways that would never happen if they were white)... 2/ A desire to use kids as bargaining chips to secure border wall funding: all because Trump's ego requires he fulfill this promise above all others to his cult. This is hostage taking for political gain...

1/ Comparing family separations at the border to family separations when American citizens are arrested for a crime (and the kids obviously don't go to jail with the parent) as a way to say "what's the big deal" is absurd... 2/ First, as the MAGA cultists have deliberately sought to ignore, many of the parents having their kids taken at the border did not break any law: they presented legally for asylum and their kids were taken anyway...

1/ Regardless of what you think about Obama's handling of immigration and holding children in shelters at the border, do NOT fall for the lie that what Trump is doing is just a continuation of Obama's policy...(cont.) 2/ The children held in shelters under the Obama administration crossed the border UNACCOMPANIED. They were not being taken from their mothers, ripped away from their families and sent sometimes across the country while the parents were detained near the crossing point (cont.)...

1/ Some Democrats still seem to believe the Trump cultists can be swayed by facts (about tariffs or tax breaks for the rich or the vagueness of the NK "deal" or whatever). But these are people, most of whom think Obama was a foreign-born Muslim... 2/ ...Or that the Earth is only 6000 years old, or that climate change is a leftist conspiracy, and that God is a white man in the sky, and that there's a "war on Christmas," and that white men are the most oppressed group in America...

(1) For everyone crying tears 4 these white folks who call cops on POC 4 some bullshit (like #JenniferShulte aka BBQ Becky) or going on racist tirades on film, like #AaronSchlossberg, bc we're "doxing" them & calling for them 2b wrecked professionally, a couple things...
