THIS IS WHAT A POLITICAL FIGHT LOOKS LIKE The "muh we are all doomed" crowd can't grasp that in the age of Trump we have TWO sides fighting each other instead of one side pretending to be two sides fighting each other. No not the GOPe (they come and go on our side at times) but Trump vs all comers.

I remember reading a Tom Clancy book decades ago called. Red Storm Rising. In it, Tom explained the difference between the Soviet and American warfighting. The soviets were regimental and followed the battle plan regardless of changes on the ground. They just keep plugging away. If half the division gets destoryed the other half would keep to their roles in the battle plan.They weren't good at adapting to changes on the ground. Now, I don't know if that was true or not but it's what he wrote. Of course, the book was fiction so take it how you want.

This is what a political battle looks like.

There are many players in the political battle. 2. Most of these players are on one of two teams. One team wants to get Kavanaugh confirmed. The other team doesn't want him confirmed.

You know Trump is stealing the dems base. The dems biggest member are the wealthy & the lower income. The big money "buys off" the lower income people with taxpayer money etc.(socialism). However, the biggest group to benefit the most from MAGAnomics so far is lower income folks He is also pushing policies that help blacks and Hispanics legally here in the country. He doesn't care about the dems wealthy they are small in number. Trump is going after the big base. Take 10-20% of that base away and what happens to the dems?

Something the media is not telling you. Every day longer the Kavanaugh saga goes on is one less day democrat Senators have to campaign for re-election. Also every day longer it goes on it fires up the GOP base more. At this point, the dems are really stuck in a catch 22. The dems can't have Kavanaugh confirmed, yet to continue to fight him they increase the risks of losing the mid-terms. If they end the fight without being seen as fighting to the last person, they risk massive backlash from their base.

For those following along at home. The Kavanaugh vote is now one day AHEAD of schedule. "Muh we are all doomed"

1 I've talked at times about the lack of DC politicians understanding the internet/social media. How they continue to act like it's the 1990's instead of 2018. Hillary lost because she ran a perfect campaign. It was perfect if you still lived in the 90's. She bought off the media 2. She ran negative ad after negative ad on TV. She hired all the "great" campaign people so the other guys couldn't hire them. She stacked the DNC and paid off the super delegates. Hell she even got the debate questions. Okay some wrap up opinions on K's hearing I did this for Ford so I guess I should do it for K's
1) K was believable.
2) his opening statement was one of the most powerful defenses I've seen in my life.
3) his emotion was real. both the anger and the sadness. 4) He didn't seem coached.
5) the optics of him sitting alone vs Ford sitting being protect by shady lawyers was powerful.
6) Dems were disgusting. No other word for it.
7) they tried to make drinking as an 18-21 year old bad. yeah no one buys it. We were all 18-21 once

Grassley explaining he is entering all three witness testimony into the record. Sworn under threat of perjury. Explaining that the Dems are resisting at all levels. Kavanuagh taking oath K making opening statement. Strong voice. A hint of anger. New statement. No one has seen this before.. All new. must watch.

I'm going to try to watch this entire hearing but if the first 15 minutes is any indication of the next 5 hours & 45 minutes, I doubt I'll be able to keep at it. Okay I'll admit. I didn't make the connection earlier. What today's accuser is talking about with "spiked drinks" is what was known as "jungle juice", "Trash can punch" etc in the 80's. It was a poor man's mixed drink served at almost every party. It was not done in secret. It was done mostly because women hated beer. Wine coolers were big then too. There was no plot to "drug women". If you didn't have the punch,most times your party turned into a punch of guys sitting around drinking beers as the girls went to find a party that had the drink.

First, I've said several times in the last week I thought @ChuckGrassley and the @senjudiciary were handling things perfectly that is up until 10:00pm last night. At that point for me things started to change. It's a matter of patience. Mine is running on fumes.

1. In the 70's the USA was on the cusp of humans exploring the solar system. The USA led the world in science, in trade, in economic activity, in military might, in entertainment and in most other things. 2. Then the left went to work. They got a POTUS that won 49 states kicked out of office. They took over Hollywood. They pushed stupid trade deals to give away our wealth.

Let's do a thought exercise. Say you have a population. This population suffers a shock. Roughly 10% of the population flees after the shock. Now think about this. Would that 10% that fled be healthier or less healthy than the 90% that stayed behind? Which would have a better chance of being able to flee/relocate the wealthier healthier population or the poorer sicker population?

1. Progressives/liberals like to say they are on the right side of history. They insist that the arc of history bends towards progress. This is just wrong on its face if one takes a quick look at that "arc" of history. 2. Throughout history it's shown that civilizations always fails in the end. That social progress within that particular civilization is at best a short term victory.

1. For those still thinking Cruz is in trouble in TX let me remind you of real results of the primary just 5 months ago.
Cruz got 1.317 million votes to Betos 641,000. Cruz by himself defeated the entire Dem field. (Combined the dems only got 1.04 million) 2. Texas is also electing a govenor this year. A very popular gov. This will mean the GOP will come out to vote. The Texas primaries had 1.5 million GOP voters to 1.0 million Dem voters.

The US Constitution was written during a time just after a revolution and a failed confederation. The writers of the document sought to heal the bitter division in the country and to form a union of the sovereign states for protection from the wider world among other things.
