So many thoughts. All of which I’ve withheld today because: I was overwhelmed with emotion and try not to speak publicly in that state of anxiety.
The IPCC report is legit terrifying but not all that surprising. The fact that it’s not surprising is concerning in and of itself.
We have roughly 12 years to turn this around - it’s incredibly unlikely we’ll do so.

Hier en parcourant le TT #RechauffementClimatique, on est tombé sur plusieurs tweets émanant de climatosceptiques qui utilisent l'histoire médiévale pour étoffer leurs arguments (2 ex. en image). On vous propose un petit thread pour y voir plus clair... ⬇️ #medievaltwitter
Bon, passons sur les anachronismes (Romains en l'an mil 🤯) : on va essayer de se concentrer sur le fond. Leur argument : le #RechauffementClimatique n'est pas grave, car il y en a eu d'autres, dont un au Moyen Âge, et on y a survécu. Donc on va survivre au prochain. CQFD.
Ce réchauffement médiéval est bien attesté, dans les sources écrites mais surtout par l'#archeologie : dendrochronologie, analyse de pollens, de calottes glaciaires,... On l'appelle le "Petit Optimum Médiéval" (POM pour les intimes), en anglais Medieval Warm Period #climatechange

It’s official, FL bill HB 631 is now a law and could affect a beach near you even if you don’t live in Florida. Walton County residents were out in droves yesterday (July 1st) to protest this new law, signed by Governor Rick Scott last month.…
This new #Florida law invalidates local municipalities' #customaryuse ordinances and effectively locks the general public out of using the best parts of Florida’s beaches—unless they can afford to rent (or buy) beachfront property. Lawsuits are pending. #standyoursand
