We had OROP in place for 26 years since independence. Three years after the great Military victory over Pakistan, and 6 Months After retirement of #SamManekshaw the hero of 71 war who gave the most illustrious victory, OFOP was scrapped in 73 by #Congress Govt of Indira Gandhi
This also came with the scrapping of separate pay commission for Armed forces.

We had been hearing about GST since years but it wasn't possible to bring every state, business, Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha agree on it! Jaitley & Modi made it possible. Businesses were down temporarily but now everyone is reaping benefits of 1 Country 1 Tax
