We earlier looked at love of #RahulGandhi and his party #Congress for the independence of Judiciary. Let’s look at their love for #ArmedForces Of #India

We had OROP in place for 26 years since independence. Three years after the great Military victory over Pakistan, and 6 Months After retirement of #SamManekshaw the hero of 71 war who gave the most illustrious victory, OFOP was scrapped in 73 by #Congress Govt of Indira Gandhi

This also came with the scrapping of separate pay commission for Armed forces.

This brought AF under the ambit of third Pay commission, which lacked consideration for AF which operates in much different And difficult conditions and doesn’t have security of tenure as a rule.

The 3rd Pay Commission Of Mrs Gandhi brought the pension of civil servants from 30% of basic to 50% and for the soldiers, from 70% to 50%. This equalised the soldier’s pension with civil servants while the soldier was likely to be retired per-force in prime of his work life.

With no representation of Army in the pay commission, no one could bring forth the point that apart from difficult working condition, a soldier typically is retired (to keep forces young and fit) after 15 years of work life, while a Govt clerk will draw 100% salary till 58

Soldiers did not gather at Jantar Mantar after this sever injustice since opposition in 73 had the decency of not using national security as political tool and refused to wade into muddy waters unlike #RahulGandhi

Field Marshal Sam Maneckshaw hero of our most emphatic victory against #Pakistan was denied of his salary and dues for 36 years under Congress Government. When it was instructed to be released by the President APJ Abdul Kalam, ‘affectionately’ called Bomb daddy by liberals.

KP singh Committee appointed in 1984 on anamolies Of compensation to soldiers made 69 recommendations for the Government to implement after studies. The then #Congress government three of those recommendations.

The three recommendations rejected by the #Congress Govt were-
1. Separate commission for ESM
2. Ex servicemen finance commission
3. #OROP

PVNR Government however offered one time settlement compensation and the matter was put on back burner until in 2011, Committee headed by BJP MP Bhagat Singh Koshiary again recommended implementation of OROP. This was done in right manner without instigating people and animosity

Congress refused to move on it, until it came into Poll agenda of #NarendraModi

The funeral of Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw wasn’t attended by the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces- Pratibha Patil, Def Minister AK Antony or the PM Manmohan Singh as none could spare time. The man who gave 71 victory milked to the hilt by #Congress walked into sunset alone
