Just in: @GovMaryFallin says NO special session will be called to address #sq788, which legalized medical marijuana Tuesday.

@HealthyOklahoma will create emergency rules to implement, but this removes the potential for #okleg (this year, anyway) to severely rollback the new law
This likely was a smart political decision for #okleg Republican incumbents who still have to face a run-off or general election challenge.

Even the perception of undermining the law could've caused major blowback when pro-marijuana voters head back to the polls
One of the biggest changes that #okleg could've made in a special session would be restricting those eligible for medical marijuana to those with a set of "qualifying conditions" #SQ788

Thread: I ended up going through the state department of health report pretty late last night and figured I’d save the tweets til the morning. I’ll be posting pictures of the report with highlights, etc but I’ll tweet essentially what they say and why those points matter.
This is probably most important. The 200 layoffs and $30 million bailout were never necessary. Here is why:
The department had a practice of using strange tactics to trick their COMMAND PROMPT budget program into releasing money. They ended up essentially creating fake debt. (Imagine moving money from your savings to checking account and saying you’re $50 in debt to yourself.)

Here’s the problem with Oklahoma: its leaders continue to marginalize their own citizens for political gain by operating on fear. When will it end? When will we be expected to do better?
If you want your Legislator to have courage, expect them to do more than what is politically expedient. Hold them accountable to a vision that will move Oklahoma forward by including all of its citizens, not just some of them.
REQUIRE that they STOP using religion as a way to cover their bigoted and discriminatory policies that are harmful, hateful, mean spirited, and unchristian. These issues are not only matters of humanity, but also of economic development.

Followed all of #okleg house judiciary this morning, and we're capping it off with #SB1140, a bill that would allow agencies to discriminate against who they placed children with. #okleg #oklaed #OKwalk4kids
We're in the middle of the funding crisis. DHS is severely underfunded. And this is what your #okleg is spending time on. #oklaed #oklaedwalkout #OKwalk4kids #SB1140
A question from @EmilyVirginOK about how this complies with federal law is met with silence, then some fumbling from Dunlap. He cites Obergefell as an example of how this codefied discrimination is legal 🤷‍♀️🤦 #okleg #oklaed #oklaedwalkout #OKwalk4kids #SB1140

I’ve seen myself or heard firsthand accounts of some really offensive/ridiculous things these lawmakers have said on air or to their constituents re: the #OKwalk4kids. We should keep a thread the “best” so we don’t forget in November. Use #OkLegFAIL if you share one. #OklaEd
Rep. Bobby Cleveland told @NEWS9 that teachers were paid to teach and needed to get back to the classroom the morning the #OKwalk4kids started. #OkLegFAIL
Last week, Mary Fallin said she hoped the teachers would come to the Capitol on Monday and say “thank you,” then head back to the classroom. #OkLegFAIL #OKwalk4kids
