Ok, hear me out here for a second.

We have a weekly tradition on my timeline.

Every Friday, I ask people for one good thing that happened in their lives that week.

I’m sure none of us feel much like doing that today...

However, this tradition matters to me.

It goes back a lot further than my Twitter tenure.

I went through some serious sh** a few years back when everything in my life burned down.

One of the things that got me through it was always looking for at least SOMETHING good.

2/
It wasn’t even the FINDING IT that mattered. It was the act of looking.

It takes your eyes off of the wreckage and reminds you that even when it seems all bad, there is at least some good.

So, even if it’s forced, it matters this week. Probably more than most.

Without fail, the comments under this little Friday tradition of ours is my happiest read of the week.

Even in darkness, there is always some light. Let’s find it.

Tell me something good.

What good thing happened in your life this week?

#OneGoodThing
Mine:

The first day of a tradition that has survived 23 years, births, deaths, marriages, divorces, cancer fights and recoveries, obstacles, impediments, conflicts and challenges.

This wknd with my boys could’ve fallen apart a hundred times.

Yet, here we are.
p.s. I haven’t slept in about 50 hours. Was a rough week leading up to the getaway.

#YetHePersists!

Tradition is tradition.

Now it’s on-on til the break of dawn...

...or until a reasonable bedtime at least.

My elementary school library did not allow K-2 kids to read the books on the upright shelves until 3rd grade. We had to read the books in bins, Eloise, Curious George, etc. I had read all of them and was reading big books at home. 1/

During library period I would look at the books I could not check out and was totally captured by the title Les Miserables which I, of course pronounced wrong. I wanted to read it so bad, but the librarian said no, only books in bins 2/ #OneGoodThing #MothersDay
I told Mom and she wrote a note saying I had her permission to read books above my grade level. The librarian tore it up and said that rules were rules. So no Les Miserables. I told Mom, she muttered a few things & wrote a note for that exact book 3/ #OneGoodThing #MothersDay
