I think that the current system for getting a GRC is outdated and should be simplified. But I also think that there should be some system in place to regulate the issue of gender recognition certificates.
I struggle to believe that anybody willing to endure the horrors involved in transition would do so with dishonorable intentions, and that they should be accepted as transwomen - using whichever facilities are appropriate. Remember this is with appropriate controls in place.
It seems lots of organisations have got all muddled about equality law. They need reminding that 'sex' is a protected characteristic. We have already helped lots of councils and others to get their guidance right. Let's make sure everyone is compliant. womansplaceuk.org/sex-is-a-prote…
