Sage Panini's manuscript Ashtadhayayi is considered to be reference book for all scholars of Sanskrit grammar. This thread explores a relatively unknown fact that his work also formed the basis of modern computer programming languages.

Mahrishi Panini is said to have lived around 500 BC acc to western historians. But this is at most an educated guess based upon context references of his written work. His manuscript Ashtadhyayi consists of 8 chapters and 4000 verses.

1] Purānamulu, piece presented in Medical College’s Sanatana Dharmam Group on 25th April 2016. What is a Purānam? In Sanskrit it means that which is new. In Hindi and Telugu they mean ancient or old.

2] Each Purānam composed new during a particular time. Purāṇamulu are of same class as Itihāsamulu. Purānamulu don’t come under Shruti. Mahārishi Aurobindo called them as Smritis, meaning those that can be written from time to time. They have 5 characteristics (Pancha-Lakshana).

3A] The pancha-lakshana are:
1. Sarga: The creation of the universe.
2. Pratisarga: Secondary creations, mostly re-creations after dissolution.
3. Vamśa: Lineage of the Devi, Devathās, Rishis, Maharishis etc etc.

जाप माला का क्या महत्व है ?
क्यों माला जरुरी है ?
माला की कब तक जरुरत होती है ?
माला एक साधन है साधना के लिए साधन की आवश्यकता है. बिना साधन के साधना प्रारंभ भी नहीं होती है माला के द्वारा साधना प्रांरभ करना साधना की प्रारंभिक अवस्था मात्र है RT REPLIES

1) प्रारंभिक अवस्था में जप गिनती के साथ ही शुरू किया जाता है इसलिए माला की आवश्यकता होती है.

वैसे तो किसी और चीज से भी गिन सकते हैं पर माला हाथ में रहने से ध्यान भटकता कम है इसलिए गुरुदेव अपने शिष्य को माला हाथ में लेकर ही जप करने के
लिए कहते हैं.

2) जैसे-जैसे जप ह्रदय में रमता रहता है हर सांस के साथ जप होता रहता है तब गिनने की आवश्यकता नहीं रहती
माला की आवश्यकता भी ख़त्म हो जाती है. साथ ही अलग-अलग माला का अलग उपयोग होता है.
