Whenever a friend discloses to me that they have been sexually assaulted (or someone they know has been sexually assaulted).... #whyididntreportit
I used to tell them, “First, I’m not a lawyer and you should probably talk to one.” Now, I tell them, “Ok, I am not your lawyer but I can give you some names of lawyers I trust.”
And, I immediately tell them what I have done in the past (and have done in the past), document, document, document! Even if this means telling someone else.

They had all been drinking. She woke up in the tent with blood everywhere, hemorrhaging.
She nearly died, and had to get transfusions. She didn’t report it. She was drunk and a teen. Her dad didn’t report it. The nurses didn’t report it! We love this woman. 2/x

Our President is a pig for suggesting that Ford isn’t telling the truth because she didn’t file a report (and for many other reasons) those and who try to excuse this sort of evil behavior by teen boys are evil pigs who deserve only to be shunned and scorned forever.

Because I woke up on a bathroom floor with a stranger on top of me, and I assumed I had consented and just hadn’t remembered. Because I didn’t understand that’s not how consent works (2/7)
