No rush to get out - since the USA war against Syria and that at times strangely feebly conducted war against ISIS is a gift to the US weapons industry. BTW - Russia's arms manufacturers too - never had to regret their government's decision to participate.
... a "summit result" (including on Syria) must have been decided a while ago ... Is that why Russia's state media is currently so mild on Trump? Surely not just because some of his MAGA values gel with values of Russia's leadership.
... Russia may be a friend of Iran and Syria and Venezuela and and and ... but the question is always: a "friend of the country" or of its current leadership? The doctrine of Realpolitik - in which Russia strongly believes in - will give you the answer.
... but Realpolitik only works if your opposite is reasonably reliable ... the USA is IMO not reliable - not on Syria, not on Iran, not on anything ...
... and of course there won't be - there can't be an OBVIOUS sell out of Syria and/or Iran ... Russia worked very hard to get a foothold in the region ... and slippery deals aren't good for a foothold ...
