... believe me Mr. Malaise Forever ... peace in Syria is for the majority not "ugly" ... you in the USA please pick your "ugly" presidents and we in the Global South pick ours - deal? ... yes ... your Excellency ... I would love to see your exalted colleague OBAMA in front of a stern world judge for the crime of kick-starting the USA's covert/overt war against Syria that has cost maybe 500 000 lives ... THAT would be so "healing" - believe me ...

Syria's "rebels" operate in a partly lawless zone.
For example:
This lady alleges rape (to do so is very brave). It seems the accused might be a commander known as Abu al-'Amsha in the 'Suleyman-Shah Brigade' which might be supported by NATO-member Turkey.
We can safely assume that the crime of rape is being committed by both sides in Syria's war and indeed there is a UN "report" on this - which was immediately turned on its head as basis to blame almost exclusively the "regime" - the same "meme" as used to smear Gaddafi's Libya.

... while a hysterical Western "pro-Syria space" paints alomst every "rebel" or "White Helmet" as "al-Qaeda",
... there IS undoubtedly a presence of al-Qaeda in Idlib - the Americans say so themselves.
What "al-Qaeda" means - well - judge for yourselves:
What deals (if any) could Russia make with USA on being allowed to fight al-Qaeda in this part of Syria? What arrangements were made between Turkey and USA? Al-Qaeda sits in Idlib and Syria's al-Qaeda is defined as such by the Security Council of the UN.

A man who bombed Syria over chocolate cake. A man who bombed Syria a 2nd time - maybe to detract from domestic politics. This man TRUMP is now facing a parliamentary election in the USA with much mud-slinging that might affect his political future. Will this man bomb Syria again? ... TRUMP's "advisor" Bolton: "US to act 'very strongly' if Syria uses chemical weapons in Idlib" ... chocolate cake anyone?

By supporting "revolution", @PeterTatchell has IMO not helped Syria's LGBT community - on the contrary. I once had a brief conversation about this with him before. It is very telling that for an "activist" claiming to "talk to Syrians" - he showed IMO no interest in talking more. IMO remarkable how Peter Tatchell manages to stick his nose into every country where the USA calls the government a "regime" ... from Syria, to Iran, to Venezuela - a string of attacks that forms IMO a telling picture if we compare it with the list of countries he never mentions.

... @Jonathan_K_Cook - has won a "Prize for Journalism" - nice - so this gentleman - seemingly accepted by a "pro-Syria space" - knows how to use words ... words like "dictator."
Now I'm sure I'll be told by his fans that he wrote much that is "pro-Syria."
So let me explain ... IMO - half the problem for people like me fighting the concentrated Western media war against Syria - with a narrative that IMO sold Western voters a concept of "humanitarian arming of rebels" - was the fact that even reasonable voices NEVER DARED to challenge the "dictator" meme

The problem happening time and time again when the USA attack or just discretely undermine a nation - is that other, EQUALLY VULNERABLE nations sometimes rub their hands in glee & repeat Washington's slogans.
From Yugoslavia to Syria - always the same.
Balkanisation doesn't have to mean "de jure" - legally splitting up nations ... no - Yugoslavia would have worked just the same for the USA - even if most new countries would never have gained full recognition. Balkanisation works even better "de facto".

"National Iranian American Council"
Well, I'm sorry, but if Mr. @SinaToossi takes TRUMP's speeches seriously while ignoring his BOMBS over chocolate cake - he might IMO be just another Trump admirer - going on about a "deep state".
Sir: TRUMP's SHALLOW state BOMBED Syria - TWICE ... TRUMP's "diplomacy" on Iran - that IMO he was completely at liberty to pursue - so far consists of trying to wreck the Iranian economy, threats and a crazy suggestion of "no strings talks" - AFTER tearing up a document of the United Nations ... come on - "deep state"? WHERE?

... interesting photo showing a wind blown Kiswah of the Holy Ka'bah in Makkah ... exposing the position of the original door ... ... the Kiswah covers the Holy Ka'bah. It is being replaced yearly on the 9th day of Dhu al-Hijjah - the sacred month ... under the Ottoman Empire the Kiswah was transported from Cairo - where in those days it was traditionally made - to Makkah ...

... #Idlib ?
As I wrote before - I hope a "dirty deal" can achieve what Syria's government needs right now: secure, open roads and control of borders.
... clearly the propaganda war on Idlib is on:
1st there's a Western social media "pro-Syria space" that hopes to create as much hate for whoever is still living there and therefore panders heavily to Western islamophobes by showing lots of veiled women ...

IMO a "fig leaf" on Yemen.
What do I mean by that?
Well, Amnesty - IMO - acts as tool of USA's imperialism where it MATTERS (see Syria). Where responses have no political impact, Amnesty's words are just a "fig leaf" to cover up their servitude to the USA.
Talking about "fig leaf":
BBC's @OrlaGuerin is IMO not the bee's knees on Yemen - no matter how "moral" her opinions.
IMO, on Syria her journalism built up required political backing for British actions - on Yemen her journalism is politically meaningless - therefore a "fig leaf"

... I told you basically since he got elected that TRUMP won't leave Syria. ... but keep shopping ... the Western "pro-Syria space" somehow manages to celebrate every 2nd week the "End Of The Syrian War - Thanks To Our Heroes Putin & Trump" ...
(This is how I see it: the US war against Syria started COVERT and what now "ends" is only the OVERT part.)

... Macron seems to have decided not to be lead by TRUMP on Turkey ... at least daring to voice what all of Europe should tell the USA loudly: "we need a stable Turkey" ... the "love" Europe feels for Turkey may be just self-preservation ... but the fact is that the EU recognised Turkey to be in need of "aid" because of the "refugee crisis" ... a crisis - BTW - both Turkey and Europe made so much worse by attacking Syria.

You Mark Curtis & the Corbyn cult are IMO dangerous idiots if you downplay this.
A Muslim Brotherhood salute is a Muslim Brotherhood salute - be it Egypt, Syria or Turkey. If a Westerner flashed this salute it shows either support for the MB and its vision - or UTTER STUPIDITY. That Cameron's UK together with Obama's USA have made a pact with "political Islam" is a story that Syria has felt for 7 bloody years ... and if "commentators" of the Western "pro-Syria space" are now downplaying the MB - I feel vindicated for NEVER having supported them before.

"Anti-Semitism" is as critical a problem TODAY as it was in 1939.
If a Western/Westernised "pro-Syria space" or "pro-Palestine space" doesn't understand THAT, it doesn't understand why brutal wars BY THE WEST are politically possible NOW: systematic dehumanisation of the "other". ... anyone - be he/she Western or Arab- who thinks it is OK to be relaxed about Anti-Semitism because "it's about Israel" forgets that in 1930s Germany it started with stirring hate against "Jewish Bankers" and ended with people of all kinds that were the "other" rotting in Camps

... Nasib border crossing is being prepared to provide a safe road into Syria for refugees currently living in Jordan ... ... this is also confirmed: it is now possible to travel by bus via Jordan from Saudi Arabia's Jeddah to Syria's Damascus ...

... yep ... Obama "talking to Hamas" kinda worked like a dream when the USA developed the Muslim Brotherhood alliance for the brutal attack on Syria ...🙄 ... Corbyn - BTW - is IMO so scared to talk HONESTLY about Syria that even in 2018 he DARED not to talk openly about Britain's IMMENSE role in the war and instead acted as if Britain was kinda just on the sidelines and could take a "diplomatic lead" ...🙄

... kinda doesn't sell the idea of a "stable Labour government handling BREXIT" if the leader and his deputy can't even agree on small symbolic nothings - like boycotting dates from Israel ...🙄
... I mean ... all this "Israel Boycott" talk is just an emotionalised nothing ... the Syria sanctions on the other hand - yes - these are REAL sanctions / boycotts ... ponder this and also Corbyn's silence on it.

No schadenfreude!
Turkey has been (is) a vicious enemy of Syria.
But now it is being attacked by IMO the real enemy of peace, who seduces nations into fighting each other: USA.
IMO, true anti-imperialism demands that we support Turkey (with the leadership that Turks have chosen). I cannot believe how stupid the EU elite is.
Don't they see that USA's attack on Turkey hurts Europe?
Turkey straddles Europe and Asia - but what is Europe now? In some places it is no longer a place of industry - but just a place for banking. Europe needs Turkey - mark my words.

... on Trump's war against Turkey (sanctions are war - it's a fact):
1) only recently Europe said Turkey needed help because of "refugees" - did Trump consult Europe?
2) the $ as currency for commodities around the wold (Petrodollar) is already threatened.
Trump's USA may think it has a sharp tool with its "sanctions" against countries like Syria, Venezuela, Iran, Russia or ... Turkey ... but one needs to know when and where to use sharp tools ... does Trump know?

... LOL ... @FT calls the jailing and brutal shake-down for the money of some of Saudi Arabia's less well connected millionaire princes a "anti-corruption crackdown" ... anyway - the Canada thing will not help to inspire more confidence in the "safety" of your investment in KSA. ... KSA is economically not in a good place ... additionally: lack of real imagination and endless war are not stable foundations for a flourishing economy - just ask Trump's USA.
