Why do some girls love making everything an issue, & for love sake you'll be dying inside for peace to reign.

I chose to work out to aid my discovery after I quit my job so I registered in a gym. I met Lucy, everything was ok until my girlfriend saw us together.

I had just joined the gym classes & my routine was still light, I was running on treadmills to build my fitness before I'd begin working on my body.

I got to the gym quite early on this occasion & I was alone, I started to work out & more people joined me.

While I was running on the treadmill I plugged music in my ears so I didn't notice people around me, after I had ran to my satisfaction I turned it off and when I got down from the treadmill I noticed this lady waiting for me to finish.

"You're done yeah?" She asked

"Yeah!" 😤

She got on to the treadmill to work out while I went to do other programmes, after the workout session I decided to walk home while listening to music.

I had barely walked 5 minutes when I noticed a car honking at me

I stopped, pulled out my headphones.

"Hello"

"Hello"

It was the same lady from the gym, she offered to give me a ride & I declined - "I don't stay far away from here" I said.

She asked if I was new to the gym & I said yes, she smiled & asked if I was going to come there next day. I told her I would, she said okay

"Bye"

"Bye"

The next day I went to the gym to continue my quest for fitness, I got on the treadmill as usual. When I was done I subconsciously started looking for the lady from the previous day.

I finished my workout session & still didn't see her, I took my things & headed out.

On my way out I saw her at the door - "Hi there" she said, "hello" I responded - she asked if I was done & I said yes, she said she wanted to give me a lift that day so she decided to go drop me off at home then come back.

At that point I couldn't decline so I agreed.

"Alright"

The drive was short but it was about the best few minutes I'd experienced with a stranger, she'd told me about her life, work & family while I only got to tell her about my work.

She told me her name was Lucy, I told her my name & we exchanged contacts too.

When she dropped me off at my gate I saw my girlfriend standing with her hands folded, I knew there would be serious trouble that day & I was already tired from the fight that was yet to happen.

I bade Lucy goodbye, she reversed her car & waved at me while driving off.

"See ya"

"Baby I thought you'd have called before coming, You know I didn't drop the keys" I said to Lara as I approached her, I tried to hug her but she pushed me away

"Who's she?" She asked

"She's just a friend"

"Why's she dropping you off?"

"Please don't do this"

"Lets go inside"

We went inside & Lara started to nag, she didn't let me touch her & everything I said ended with "go & meet your girlfriend".

It was her usual pattern, she would seize every opportunity to make me beg. This day was bad because she had some 'evidence'

"Which kain thing be this?"

I wanted to stand on my word & not plead but I decided to play the 'nice guy' card for the umpteenth time, "I'm sorry baby, I didn't plan to hurt you" I said.

"Everytime you're caught you'd be sorry, leave me alone jor" she responded.

"What kind of problem is this?" I thought.

"Baby you know there's a lot I'm dealing with & I don't appreciate that you're not making this easy" I said when I got frustrated

"Ehen I'm the bad person now abi, ehn go & meet your new babe since she's good" Lara said as she grabbed her bag & left my house.

"Wuzzall this?"

Usually I would try to stop her but I was exhausted physically & mentally, I just dragged myself into the bathroom to freshen up.

Minutes later my phone started to ring, I picked it & it was Lucy calling - she wanted to check on me, I felt calm

"I'm fine"

"Call waiting - Baby"

While I was talking to Lucy I got a call from Lara, I couldn't end the call from Lucy so I kept talking to Lucy & made up my mind to call Lara later.

Lucy had offered to meet with me over dinner that evening, I told her I'd give her a feedback - I ended the call & called Lara.😐

Her phone rang, she picked up & started shouting

"I was calling you & you were talking to someone else abi?"

"Baby I was on another call, but I'm calling you back now"

"You were already calling your new girlfriend abi, leave me! Bye!"

She ended the call & turned off her phone

I started feeling guilty because I was truly talking to Lucy, I sent Lucy a text that I wouldn't be able to meet with her that day.

I tried to reach Lara but I couldn't, I just brought out my laptop to keep reading some of e-books. Later I cooked dinner & watched some movies.

Next morning I woke up to a text from Lucy acknowledging my previous text, she wished me a lovely day & said she hopes to see me soon.

I was feeling good about the day when I remembered I hadn't talked to Lara - my mood spoilt, I tried to call Lara & prayed that we don't fight.

She picked the call and we talked like everything was okay, I told her we should try to forget the past

"Okay"

"Alright baby, so will you come over today?" I asked

"Why do you want me to come?"

"I've missed you"

"Okay, I'll come around 4"

We ended the call & I was happy

I knew that my evening was going to be good, I grabbed my trainers & headed for the gym. I got to the gym & did my usual routine, Lucy was with me at the gym as well so we decided to go home together.

On our way home we talked about our careers & she offered me some useful tips.

She asked me when I was going to make up for missing our date, I told her 'soon'. We got to my gate & she dropped me, I waved her goodbye & she drove off.

When I entered the gate someone pointed a gun at me, "your money or your life" he said. I got scared & looked back gently...

Progress!!

He'd pointed a "fake" gun at me & started to laugh, I was short of words because I was exhausted - I just shook my head & kept walking in.

"See as you dun fear" progress said laughing, "You no well. How far?" I asked him.

"I dey o guy" he said

"Food dey?" He added

He asked if I registered in a gym & I told him I did, he said he'd love to join me.

"I need make my 6 packs comot" he said

I tried to discourage him from registering so I told him there were plenty 'sugar mommys' there & that they're rumoured to use destinies

"No come there o"

"Sugar mummies?" He asked

"Yes o!"

He smiled; I asked him why he was smiling - "Nothing"

Minutes later Lara came & we all stayed & gisted, she later cooked rice & we all ate - progress soon left & it was just Lara & myself.

The mood was chilled & yes you guessed right

Mekwe!

The next day I went to the gym early & to my greatest surprise I saw progress arranging dumbbells - I was shocked! "Guy wetin you dey do here?" I asked

"Why the sugar mummies them never show?" He replied

"So you no fear, I tell you say dem dey use destiny"

"Guy forget destiny"

"Destiny wey I no dey use?" He continued

"I go gym make I look sweet for the sugar mummies, I need money abeg"

"No be only you go fine na" he said & kept arranging the dumbbells, I left him to go use the treadmill. Minutes later Lucy came in.

"Hey"

"Hi"

I asked her how she was was & she said she was fine, "you look great" I said & she smiled. I introduced her to progress who was taking selfies, he said hi to her & turned his camera to take photos of us.

"I go upload am, make people know say me sef dun dey gym" Progress said..

"I got you something" Lucy said after we finished working out, I asked her what it was & she said it was a surprise.

"It's in my car" she added. We walked to her car & she brought out a bag, I opened it & it was a Nike sneakers.

"Wow! These are lovely"

"Thank you"

"Welcome"

"Are you free later today?" She asked, "there's this nice place around my house" she added. I smiled & told her I was free, I'll have to get home & freshen up.

We got into her car & she drove off, on the way progress asked Lucy if she had a sister

"No, Why?"

"Maybe I can love her & she'll buy me Nike shoes too" Progress replied & we all laughed, we soon got to my gate & she dropped us off.

"I'll pick you by 4" she said as we walked in the compound waving her goodbye, I nodded in agreement.

"This babe make sense o guy" Progress said

"No be like Lara wey go dey give you problem everytime" he added, see as you dun lean because of babe" he added, I looked at him.

"See as she mature, e be like na senior babes like this me sef go dey eye o" he continued

I started to agree with him, Lara was a pain in the ass!

I never realized I could meet someone as peaceful & stress free as Lucy, I was still thinking when I heard a loud knock!

"Who's that?!" Progress asked as he went to open

"Lara!"

"Where is Uche?!" she asked as she walked in - she walked towards me & gave me 2 hot slaps!

FUNKE!

I had barely recovered from the slap when she whipped out her phone to show me the picture Progress had taken in the gym, & updated on BBM.

"So you're still dating her" she said

"It's over Uche!"

She walked out & banged the door! I stood not knowing whether to be angry or sad

"Guy calm down, I for say make you vex but e fit be so God want am" Progress said as he advised me to forget about what happened.

He finishes talking & immediately went into my kitchen to eat the last food in my pot, he then went to my fridge - finished my remaining wine & left!

I thought about what Lara had done for hours, I felt really bad because I had invested a lot into the relationship. I then went to have my bath, as I stepped out of the bathroom my phone rang.

It was Lucy & she was headed to my house, I dressed up & minutes later she had arrived

I went to meet her outside & we finally went out for our date, it was a nice environment & she was fun & very lively. Everything about her was different - matured, calm & drama free.

"This is my new home" I said to myself.

After some hours of fun it was soon time to go home...

She paid the bills when it came & declined my offer to pay

"You can take care of the next one but I got this" she said. My head swole, it was a stamp to the agreement I made earlier "I die here"

We went into the car, she drove smoothly & we went straight to my house that night.

On my way I told her I broke up with Lara earlier that day, she just smiled & said nothing. We soon got to my gate & I asked her if she wanted to come in.

"Sure"

We drove into the compound, she parked & we went into my house. Luckily there was light & the house was chilled.

I offered her chair & water & she drank, I then went to the kitchen to prepare her my special noodles. She ate & she said she loved it, when a girl says she loves my noodles I was always sure they like me.

It was my personal myth so I believed her, I took the dishes away after.

As I came out of the kitchen I saw her by the door, she looked at me with a smile & thanked me once again for the meal.

"Take me on a journey thru your mind & body" she said

"Na mekwe be the journey?" I thought; as I went close, grabbed her waist & kissed her - I heard a knock!

I went to see who it was & I saw Progress standing there, I asked him what he wanted & he said he forgot his wristwatch in my bathroom.

I opened the door for him, he went in, took his watch but didn't leave.

"Hi again" he said to Lucy

I cornered him "Guy behave, dey go" I said

He eventually got the message & left, I locked the door & went back to continue from where we stopped.

This time I took her from the bed to the bedroom, your guess is also as good as mine.

Mekwe!!

After the mekwe she asked if we could date now since I'm now single.

"Yes baby"

That was how Lucy & I started dating, she was the best thing to happen at that point. She gave me career advise, helped me get a job in a good organisation less than a week & life started to make sense to me again

The following weekend I wanted to go the gym so I called progress

"Guy you dey go gym this morning?" I asked Progress

"Gym keh? I dey crase?" He replied, I asked him why he wants going & he said he'd had body pains since the first day.

"I no dey gym again abeg" he said

"U no want sugar mummy again?"

"Oboy I no want abeg"

I started laughing

He said I should go alone but that I should meet up with him afterwards for an important discussion, I wondered what it was but I promised to see him.

After my session I called progress & we met up at a joint close to the gym, when I got there I saw Progress sitting with Lara!

He saw the disappointing look on my face & quickly stood up, he came to me & I noticed Lara stood up too.

"What do you want?" I asked Lara

"She dun dey beg me since" progress said

I became upset with both of them, but I faced Lara & she started to beg.

"Why are U begging me?"

She said she was sorry for overreacting, that she didn't know I would leave her truly. I told her I was free from her shackles, "I've found peace elsewhere" I said.

"I loved you but you would've killed me before my time if I didn't leave you" I added.

She started to cry & beg

"Guy show" Progress called me aside, he pleaded with me to take her back or at least delay my rejection feedback till the next day because he had made mouth to her that he convinced me to take her back.

I thought he was joking till I saw the serious look I'm his face.

"Abeg"..

Little reputations with women meant a lot to Progress so I agreed, I went to Lara & told her that I'd think about it because of Progress.

Progress became excited, he told Lara to go & I turned back & headed home. Later that evening I met with Lucy & we watched football together.

Lucy wasn't a football fan but she made watching it fun, we watched some tv series & network news afterwards. It was so calm with her that I felt I hit a jackpot

We spent the rest of the night together again, the next morning I went home to prepare for church

After church I decided to go home, take some nap & go to the gym later. I called Lucy to ask her if she would be at the gym & she said yes - "Ok, See U there"

Evening came & I dressed up, grabbed my wallet & went to the gym. On getting there I heard noises, people were fighting!

I heard a female voice & I kept wondering who could be so stupid to come fight in a gym, I got inside & to my latest surprise I saw Lara raining insults at Lucy.

Lucy wasn't fighting back & there was a guy there trying to calm Lara down.

"What's happening here?"

"Are you mad?"

Lara had gone to attack Lucy at the gym, it was the most embarrassing moment of my life - Where did Lara get such attitude from?" I wondered as I rushed to stop her

"What do u think you're doing?"

"You're such a disgrace Lara"

The gym securities soon came & threw Lara out like

I turned to Lucy to apologize to her - "I never knew she was that crazy, that would never happen again I promise" I added

Lucy handled the situation calmly, she further impressed me & that point I realized that I dodged a bullet with Lara & made the right choice with Lucy.

We couldn't work out again so we went straight to my place, on my way I called Progress to tell him what happened.

"You mean this thing?" Progress asked

"Cheeii!! I no know say she go come cause trouble, na me tell her where the gym dey" he added.

"Guy no vex" he apologized

I told him it was okay & he asked me if he should deal with her, I told him not to bother - that it was over for good.

Lucy and I ended up in my house and we spent the rest of the day together; eating, drinking and we crowned it all with 'I'm sorry for everything Mekwe'

Relationships are meant to make us feel happy and loved, troubles are bound to show up; you need to have a second thought when it becomes a threat to your happiness & peace.

You deserve to be genuinely happy.
