Charlie Baker's popularity among Democrats in Massachusetts is a mass scale act of cognitive dissonance. There are too many people here who decry the destruction of local immigrant families one day and celebrate Baker as a "reasonable, bipartisan moderate" the next day. #mapoli

The reality is that Baker has done nearly nothing to protect immigrant communities from ICE and he STILL hasn't supported the #SafeCommunitiesAct, which would improve ties between those communities and local law enforcement. In this way, Baker has helped Donald Trump. #mapoli

Baker wouldn't even let Massachusetts to take in Syrian refugees when truly liberal states like California welcomed them. And yet, a lot of people here who wanted to accept those refugees are going to vote for Baker in November only because he seems okay compared to Trump #mapoli

I've heard several MA Democrats I know argue that "one party rule" is always bad for a state, and that compromise is the hallmark of democracy. I find this sentiment not only naive but ignorant of how dangerous things in America have become for immigrants and many others. #mapoli

I don't want a governor like Charlie Baker who compromises with an administration that's willing to torture children for political expediency. I want a governor who will amplify every local effort by lawmakers and citizens to resist this fascist and sociopathic regime. #mapoli

There are two candidates challenging Charlie Baker and rightly calling him out for doing so little to stand up to Trump and the extremist GOP Congress. They are @bobmass and @jay4ma. If this week's news about immigration has made you sick, then you should support them. #mapoli
