(1) #TeamTrump #PhotoThread: Visit to Europe July 2018 - Part II.

Second stop: London, then on to Scotland and the #HelsinkiSummit with Russia.
(2) POTUS and FLOTUS arrived at London Stansted Airport on Thursday afternoon and traveled to Winfield House on Marine One.
(3) The gardens at Winfield House are stunning, especially in July. A number of well wishers (probably Embassy staff) stood outside the house to welcome the Trumps.
(4) "The Beast" awaits the couple from inside one of the Winfield House garages.
(5) Team Trump at Winfield House in London ahead of the gala dinner at Blenheim Palace on the first night of the #POTUSinUK trip.
(6) The First Lady's gown was breathtakingly beautiful.
(7) Absolutely amazing gown... floaty, the perfect soft summery color...
(8) Stunning Melania Trump. There's an old saying that on an occasion like this, a man should be like the velvet pillow that the jewel rests on. That's why I like men to wear traditional, simple tuxedos. That allows us to have ALL the attention. *Winks*
(9) POTUS and FLOTUS boarded Marine One and landed near Blenheim Palace for the short car ride to the palace courtyard. POTUS and the PM were extremely friendly and warm throughout, despite their differing views on the best way to do national sovereignty.
(10) The enchanting Melania emerged from the car and - just look at everyone's faces as the President introduces her. They've met before but I think they were just blown away by her... which is totally understandable.
(11) When they reached the steps, POTUS and the PM seemed to want to stay put while they made room for Melania to walk across and stand beside POTUS. I think they instinctively didn't want her to trip.
(12) They walked up the steps and stood while the bands of the Scots, Welsh and Irish Guards played. It was so grand.

If you're wondering what that little thing is on the back of Mrs May's arm, it's a blood glucose monitoring sensor. She has Type 1 Diabetes.
(13) These three military bands are among the best in the UK. And Blenheim Palace is stunning... 400 years in the same family, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, among the top 5 UK stately homes to visit (IMO), and has strong links with the USA.
(14) Authenticity. Charm. Love.
(15) They were all very impressed by the army bands.
(16) They're both conservative leaders, who know despite policy disagreements, they must fight to ensure their countries stick together against the forces that are trying to destroy them. They know politics is rough... IMO there's mutual admiration & appreciation. #RaisedRight
(17) The begowned and tuxedoed throng to the right of the group represented a good portion of the UK establishment. Next to Melania, they seem... average. LOL
(18) I haven't seen any photos from inside the Blenheim Palace Dinner but hopefully they will start to trickle out. Friday morning began with POTUS and Amb. Woody Johnson heading to Marine One, en route to Sandhurst Military College. American-influenced garden design at Winfield.
(19) "I want YOU - to admit you are fake news."
(20) Not many photos available yet from Sandhurst. I will probably come back to this part of the trip later.
(21) POTUS then flew from Sandhurst to Chequers; The official country home of the Prime Minister (whoever is in office at the time.)
(22) We meet again.
(23) Some of the positive photos from this event. The MSM is using the negative ones. These two get on just fine.

Also, the protests are tiny and mostly just comedic. Have seen nothing so far to take seriously.
(24) Welcome to Chequers, Mr President.🇬🇧🇺🇸
(25) Look at this magnificent room in Chequers. Wow.
(26) All is well between the US and the UK.
(27) DT: It was just one interview.
TM: I know, but did you have to go to The Sun?
(28) Art of the deal.
(29) Joint press conference outside Chequers.
(30) FLOTUS visited the Royal Hospital Chelsea, which is for war veterans, who are called Chelsea Pensioners. Children from a nearby school joined in making remembrance poppies, and playing a game of lawn bowls, in which FLOTUS was fiercely competitive.
(31) These little plastic poppies that people in the UK and elsewhere wear around Remembrance Day are a bit fiddly to make. A delightful exchange below.
(32) FLOTUS at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London.
(33) Not everyone was having a good day.
(34) Lawn bowls bring out the best and worst in people.
(35) Melania Trump and Philip May, brand Ambassadors.
(36) Be the best you can be. #BeBest
(37) Taking a walk in the garden at Chequers.
(38) POTUS has gotten the press and the PM laughing - this press conference is well worth a watch. So funny and informative. Trump and May are demonstrating how to agree to disagree, with civility. There was even applaud from the press at the end.
(39) An amazing moment.

(1) Live tweeting the swearing in of Justice Kavanaugh, October 6, 2018.

The White House and then the Supreme Court will host the two ceremonies necessary for the Justice to take his seat on Monday.

#ThankYouSenators #GodBlessAmerica #Originalism 🇺🇸👨‍⚖️
(2) Brett M. Kavanaugh will soon be the 102nd Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the USA. He has earned this highest honor throughout his life, inspired by his trailblazing mother, Judge Martha Kavanaugh.

His title for these few hours is Associate Justice Designate.
(3) This statement from the Supreme Court explains the two ceremonies:

A directory of my 10 Kavanaugh threads, and counting. (I know, I surprise myself sometimes.)

#JudgeKavanaugh will soon be #JusticeKavanaugh and the American Republic will be preserved. 🦅
(2) This WaPo reporter is incorrect about the vote being "scheduled for" Saturday. The earliest time a vote COULD be held is Saturday pm. There's no reason not to hold it on Sun/Mon IF we need Daines. I think we won't. Read my 5 tweets about him here:
(3) An excellent short explainer about the fact that Mitch has the votes:

(1) A directory of my Kavanaugh threads since July 9, 2018.

I never planned more than a couple of threads about him this year but, I shoulda known the Dems would try to destroy whoever was the nominee this time.

Well, he fought back. #AmericanOfTheYear #JusticeKavanaugh 🇺🇸
(2) Like Democrats, I'd already decided how I felt about him before his nomination was announced. I live-tweeted the announcement, which was a great event in itself.

(3) I followed Kavanaugh's progress over the summer and on September 22nd, I finally wrote a thread about the preparations for the all-important hearing on September 27th. It covers the hearing before the next thread started the day after.

(2) Mitch laughing to himself about how absurd it is that he has to push his way through the crowd of reporters on 9/25/18.
(3) Sen Grassley is 85 years old. (Democrats have senators around that age, too.)

Today he had to hold onto a Capitol Police officer to reduce the risk of a reporter knocking him over. This has to stop. Senators must return to being able to walk around freely at work.

She's one of those women whose face lights up whenever she is around children. God Bless our great First Lady.

(3) FLOTUS left Joint Base Andrews in her trademark high heels and arrived in Ghana wearing practical flats. She still looks sensational, whatever she happens to wear!

(1) Live tweeting the Senate tonight. @SenateMajLdr has to file cloture by a deadline tonight in order to hold the #ConfirmKavanaugh vote Saturday.

Watch the livestream and videos here:

(2) Cloture in the Senate is a procedural step that you can learn more about at the link below. The senate.gov website is the best resource for learning about Senate procedure and a lot more. Same for house.gov.

(3) Watching live Senate floor proceedings is boring as hell, as they pass bills for naming Post Offices, & so on. But every now & then, they confirm a SCOTUS judge. And this time, they will affirm our great #BillOfRights #DueProcess & the hard-won #RuleOfLaw. Seriously. 🇺🇸🦅
