I had people tell me so many times that the abortion rights campaign @freesafelegal needed to change its name or we would never #repealthe8th

That @freesafelegal needed to rebrand, or would not be taken seriously or be interviewed by media. While I was regularly on local, national & International media.

While we had rep's presenting at the UN, and EU parliament level.

They were always shocked when I told them we voted on the name, that it was one I suggested, & I argued for.

Trust women was suggested & rejected as it was exclusionary. Repeal/repealthe8th was suggested & rejected as it was a goal but not the end goal.

The aims have always been #FreeSafeLegal it was bizzare when journalists would posture in print about what does @freesafelegal want, eh hello been the demand/slogan from the founding.

So many journalists/people who never seemed to have done the basics like having a look at abortionrights.ie

But fell over themselves to say we were doing it wrong, while suggesting things we had already done or were doing.

Yes the goal of #Repealedthe8th has happened but nothing has changed. It won't do until we have new legislation. We still need to work to ensure #FreeSafeLegal

In the meantime 10 people a day travel, 70 a week. 3 a day illegal take pills, 21 a week. And will do for the rest of this year.

The TDs, just got thier holidays from the Dáil. If you can contact them, go see them & tell them you want them to support the coming legislation for #FreeSafeLegal abortioncare, free contraception & improved sex Ed.

The next March for choice will be 29th September, did you know @freesafelegal organise & pay the cost for this every year.

Again it's perplexing how many people, don't see the work which goes into making the March for choice happen.

Right now that work is all those working the festival bars with @WorkersBeerCo donating wages to @freesafelegal & the massive amount of admin it takes to make that happen.

The communication strategy is currently being worked on, the imagery, wording for leaflets. The logistics, the tech requirements. So much to be done before Sept 29th.

Dont be that person who at the March tell hard working activist your ideas on how it should be done.

Ps last year there were chairs for those who may need one. One was specifically brought for Nell and she sat in it.
