It seems like perhaps the candidates have been waffle-y or a bit unclear on this.

Russia never stopped having a cold war with us.

Maybe you don't remember getting under your desk in drills? (as if a desk would stop a bomb) I'm old like that.

Russia is not an ally.

This is not a partisan issue. This is a patriot issue.

We should never lose sight that there is one country on this planet more than any other that would love nothing more than to disrupt our peace, destroy our trade relations, and decimate our economy.

Russia.

We are not friends.

We are not frenemies.

They are directly, actively at war with our nation and have been for decades.

It is a congressional duty to be aware of such enemies engaging in active hostile acts and behave accordingly.

If our "leaders" are not taking action,
If they pander and sow distrust in our institutions,
If they use the term fake news for information that is unpleasant but true,
If they ever tell you a US opponent is an enemy...

Rip them out of office.

Every. Single. One.

Replace our leadership with those who put Maine and our country first; those who recognize political differences as an opportunity to work together, not cause division to win an election or get a bazinga!

Demand better. Demand people who will stop this circus.

The *only* way we stop this is to:

✔️ acknowledge it
✔️ address it
✔️ collaborate with parties
✔️ stop EVER considering a different political opinion as an enemy equivalent

Vote for patriotic, competent people who are not distracted by shiny things.

Any candidate who is telling you to see the other major political party as an enemy out to destroy your way of life, unfollow them immediately.

Snap your wallet shut.

Make a conscious choice to be done with Russian reindeer games, and demand candidates follow suit.

Here is your duty - yell at your party loudest. They will listen to you.

If your candidate says "fake news" call him or her out.

If your news source is being ridiculous, demand objective reality.

Demand and reward collaboration, competency and ethics.

Hold every single leader and wanna be leader to the same standard for ethics, morals, competency - regardless of party.

If a candidate is silent when they should not be, hides, misrepresents their votes or views, speak out.

If you are an Independent, get off your rump. You are the silent majority and there are more of us.

The unenrolled single-handedly determine the outcomes in many elections. Flex that power and demand the parties behave better, support candidates that demand better.

There are many issues that we are all pissed off about.

There is one that is a cancer provoking all the rest and tearing us apart.

Russia.

Call, write, stop by your legislators particularly your own party, and demand action on Russia. Not a trivial vote. Action.
