One year ago today, a wave of constituent pressure crashed in the Senate well -- saving health care for 23 million Americans and denying Trump a top legislative priority. 1/
We didn't build that wave overnight. It started little by little, when people like you showed up at town halls around the country to hold Republicans accountable for trying to repeal the ACA. nymag.com/daily/intellig… 2/
Republicans got scared off. They even pulled their first repeal vote in the House. But they didn’t quit -- and neither did we. nytimes.com/2017/03/24/us/… 3/
This was supposed to be easy for them! But a seven-year political promise suddenly had thousands and THOUSANDS of us punching holes in it. All. Over. The country. 4/
And when Republicans barely got #TrumpCare out of the House, we REALLY started putting in the work to stop it in the Senate. We picked up the phones. 5/
We held protests. Sit ins. Die ins. At one point, we held 172 events *on the same day.* Little by little, we turned the Senate calendar against them. cnn.com/2017/06/27/pol… 6/
This wasn't *just* a Collins/Murk/McCain thing. Sen. Moran (R-KS) got an earful at a July 4 town hall, came back to DC and said he couldn't support the #TrumpCare bill on the table at the time. Capito and Portman eventually opposed other versions too, forcing more delays. 7/
We worked together to turn the heat up so high in so many places that we stopped #TrumpCare in its tracks. The wave of constituent power we built together was what we needed to #ProtectOurCare and #KillTheBill. 8/
There's another wave we're building that same way. In every corner of the country, we've already started to #DoTheWork to build the big #BlueWave that will crash this Nov. We're #100DaysOut from Election Day. The time is NOW to help us. Phone bank. Canvass. Recruit friends. 9/
This is what comes next for anyone who's called, gone to a town hall, or shown up for a march. A year+ ago, you didn't think you'd have your Senators' phone numbers saved in your phone, did you? 10/
This is it. We're #100DaysOut. If you haven't started already, doing the work to reclaim our power in Congress has to start now. indivisible.org/blog/100daysou… 11/
Indivisibles have 1️⃣4️⃣3️⃣ canvasses, phone banks, and voter registration drives *this weekend alone*, kicking off our movement's massive electoral program. Find an event near you and to help us build this 🌊: indivisible.org/events/?issue-…

[THREAD] Kavanaugh’s confirmation today is just 1 part of Republicans’ decades-long campaign to subvert our democracy. They put their relentless pursuit of a Supreme Court controlled by radical right-wingers ahead of brave women who have told their stories. #KavanaughConfirmation
By taking extreme personal risk, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford & sexual assault survivors galvanized this process. Disturbing and credible allegations against Brett Kavanaugh were brought to light by several courageous women. None of it mattered to Republicans. #KavanaughConfirmation
Brett Kavanaugh lied under oath. He should be disbarred and investigated, not elevated to the Supreme Court. He has the lowest approval rating of a SCOTUS nominee since Robert Bork.

[THREAD] Here's what just happened on #Kavanaugh. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 11-10 (all Rs, including @JeffFlake voting yes, all Ds voting no) to send the nomination to the Senate floor. 1/
As part of his remarks, @JeffFlake told the Committee he'd prefer the Senate floor vote on Kavanaugh to be put off one week to allow for an FBI investigation. 2/
Two things @JeffFlake does not control:
1️⃣ Whether there is an FBI investigation.
2️⃣ Whether the floor vote is put off by one week. 3/

[THREAD] There's a LOT of updates today around the #TrumpPutinSummit and the #MuellerInvestigation. Here's what you need to know:
Trump’s disgraceful and disloyal press conference today shows that he is a danger to us all, and that he is clearly acting on behalf of Russian, and not American, interests. Instead of confronting Putin’s threats to our democracy, he instead attacked the Russia investigation.
Putin suggested 𝙍𝙪𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙖 should join the investigation, & it should be expanded to investigate U.S. citizens. Trump should have put a stop to that idea immediately - instead he agreed it was a good idea. He had a choice between Americans and Putin, and he chose Putin. Again.

BREAKING: Trump just announced his #SCOTUSpick - Brett Kavanaugh, who has a troubling record on #reprorights, the environment, the ACA, and more. Keep reading to learn more about #WhatsAtStake and why we must #StopKavanaugh ⬇️
Brett Kavanaugh is one of the most cravenly partisan choices Trump could have made. He’s been called the “Forrest Gump of Republican politics,” as he seems to always show up in high-stakes, far-right political battles and conspiracy theories.
Kavanaugh doesn’t believe that a sitting president can be indicted, and believes presidents should have wide latitude to hire and fire special counsels. His nomination could shield Trump from facing accountability for his crimes and corruption.

UPDATE: Paul Ryan is shopping around his immigration proposal as a “fix” to family separation. That’s a lie. It does NOT solve this Trump-created crisis. It only makes it worse. Here’s what this bill would 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 do:

#KeepFamiliesTogether #FamiliesBelongTogether
❌ Jails families together — i.e., bigger cages for families
❌ INDEFINITE detention of children while parents are being prosecuted
❌ Would still result in separation of families if parent is sentenced to jail time
The bill also does NOT provide security and relief for DACA recipients. It creates a long, complicated process that does not guarantee that Dreamers will 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 obtain permanent relief. In short, it leaves many in the same limbo they’re in now. #DreamActNow
