3/ ISIS files show court cases whereby (male) ISIS “spies” accuse Syrian females of having attended "mixed" weddings (males and females attended wedding). Also women were accused of wearing make-up.
4/ Also I found #ISISfiles with rulings showing local women weren’t allowed to travel between different ISIS-provinces without permission. Females need special ISIS paper to travel. Paper must say that the ISIS office has checked her identity &that the office knows who she is.
5/ Among the #ISISfiles I found in Syria, there are also documents with rulings that male doctors aren't allowed to treat female patients & male doctors can’t assist females giving birth.
6/ Also acc to #ISISfiles, ISIS banned talking between males &females who weren’t family. Staying alone with girl or talking to girl over phone was illegal.
This all was considered "harassment" &punishable by law. If u were caught for 3rd time: 15 days prison +90 lashes. @akhbar
7/ In order to control Syrian women and apply all these restrictive laws, ISIS had to employ their own ISIS-women. Because men weren’t allowed to be near women, ISIS used its female members to control and, if need be, arrest local females.
10/ The #ISISfiles show that ISIS allowed its women to work as teachers in ISIS run schools.
Also, ISIS women had right to go to court &file for divorce. I found in Syria court documents of Um Ishaq, an ISIS woman from Holland, who divorced her Tunisian husband (ISIS fighter)
11/ It's significant that foreign ISIS women were allowed to divorce their ISIS-husbands.
Many ISIS females who returned to West claim that they were fully controlled by their husbands &that females had no say whatsoever.
12/ The #ISISfiles tell us that ISIS did not view jihad as an obligation for women in general.
According to the #ISISfiles I found in Syria, only in specific & urgent cases women have the right to carry the gun and fight. For example, when the emir specifically orders it.
13/ The #ISISfiles mention specific conditions under which ISIS women can carry weapons & fight:
a/ If the enemy attacks town and enters the houses.
b/ In case the emir orders so.
c/ If a place is besieged and there is “nafir” - a general call to arms.
14/ Acc to #ISISfiles, it's better when females dont fight because:
a/ Women are physically weak
b/ If women scream in battle, it will shake morale of army.
c/ to prevent her clothes getting torn so that private parts r visible.
d/ It can be seen as sign of weakness by enemy.
15/ The #ISISfiles I found apply to females ISIS considers “people of the book”.
ISIS views Yazidis as “devil worshippers” & treated them in most horrible way. Killing, raping, slavery…genocide. Nobody can imagine what Yazidis went/going through.
May justice come quickly.
