@wgbhnews @CharlieBakerMA As you can see, it took A LOT to get him to take any action. He kept saying "it's a Federal issue". There is a Federal component to the #weymouthMA permitting process. Normally @FERC has the last word. Not so in our case: @MassCZM has the last last word. 3/

@wgbhnews @CharlieBakerMA @FERC @MassCZM MA has power at the state level b/c Spectra wants to place the compressor on the coastline (aka CZM's turf—they have federal-level oversight). If CZM follows their own policies/rules/laws they can permanently say no to the compressor proposal—forever. 4/

It was found ILLEGAL by MSJC, y'all 7/

"But don't we need tha gas?" As @MassAGO has shown in her study: no. Additional gas from proposed #weymouth compressor would only be 19% split between MA & CT... 9/

I understand what Adam means, & what he's picturing, but today's "activists" are your average grandma, mom, dad, basically anyone who has had their health & livelihood compromised by a gas infrastructure project.

Their lack of caring is an industry standard, experience shows me. But, if they are merely bumbling, & have been bumbling for a while, WHY are they allowed to continue operating in MA?
