Thread: The slippery slope of undercover atheists
I begin with the Name of Allaah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
“Were they created by nothing? Or were they the creators (of themselves)?” Qur’an 52:35

From the inception of humanity, Satan has vowed to mislead a large number of the progeny of Adam (peace be upon him) except for a few whom Allaah has protected.
Allaah Exalted be He, reminds humanity of this sinister agenda hatched out by the chief deceiver, in numerous verses of the Glorious Qur’an. He says: “Satan commands you only what is evil and sinful, and that you should say against Allaah what you know not.” Qur’an 2: 162;
Similarly, Allaah says: “And befool them gradually those whom you can among them with your voice, make assaults on them with your cavalry and your infantry, share with them wealth and children, and make promises to them. But Satan promises them nothing but deceit.” Qur’an 17: 64
#Atheism, a rather strange ideology that defies sound human natural disposition, reason and logic, and undeniable facts, seeks to promote or rather promotes the faulty narration of denying the existence of a supreme Creator.
Be it as it may, the methodology of the Qur’an, in helping any individual or group held ransom by some confused philosophical inclinations, is simplistic and intellectually driven.
A French atheist writer by the name Anatole once wrote, “Man believes when his urine test shows that he is diabetic”.
In the context of his words, a subtle mockery of the difficulty an #atheist experiences in trying to deny what is deeply rooted in the soul of every human, the Existence of Allaah.
Man believes a mere test that he is diabetic without denying it, yet he does not believe in the signs of #Allaah that are vividly presented before him.
Similarly, a devout #Muslim Woman by the name Raabiah al-Adawiyyah centuries down the line once made an amazing, clever and wise refutation against #atheistic inclinations. It was said to her: So and so has established one thousand proofs of the existence of #Allaah.
She smiled and said: One proof is sufficient. It was said: What is it? She said: If you were walking on your own in the desert, and you slipped and fell into a well and could not get out of it, what would you do? He said: I would call out: O #Allaah! She said: That is the proof.
Does it gel with sound #logic and #reasoning for footprints of man or animal to appear on a barren desert without them having to pass through it? Is it consistent with sound and balanced understanding for a beautiful mansion to build itself without a builder?
Is it intellectually possible to go through the process of ideation where the end concept seeks to establish effects and negate causes?
Obviously, these are impossibilities, because the existence of ‘an effect’ dictates the existence of a ‘cause’. A typical #atheist believes in causes and effects as applied to his day-to-day activities but miserably fails to apply it in the #spiritual realm.
Why does he have to fuel his car before driving it, why does he not believe that the car can drive itself without fuel or electricity? Yet sadly, he believes man comes into existence without a Creator!
Consequently, in retrospect, when man carefully looks at its own creation, he will come to terms with his natural disposition of appreciating the Existence of a Supreme Creator – Allaah.
Man was absolutely non-existent, then he was fashionably and perfectly brought into #Existence from non-existence and before his creation, he was nothing.
#Allaah Exalted be He, points out to this indisputable fact in an unequivocal terms in Qur’an 76: 1; “Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was not a thing worth mentioning?”
Was there not a time in the life of an #atheist when his parents were not even married let alone imagining him as their child? Where was he when he was not in existence and Who initiated and perfected his creation and brought him into existence?
Who nurtured him from a state of absolute ignorance of not even knowing his parents, nor the different organs of his body or right from left? Who nurtured him from the state of sitting to crawling, to walking to running and to speaking? Who gave man intellectual ability?
Who made him even understand the Universe whence he could have been an insane person? The answer to these questions will determine how sound the natural (instinctive) disposition of man is or otherwise.
In contrast, an #atheist forgets about all these and becomes an open denier of the existence of a Supreme Creator – Allaah.
In Qur’an 36:77 – 78 Allaah Exalted be He, says: “Does not man see that We have created him from Nutfah (mixed male and female discharge – semen drops). Yet behold! He (stands forth) as an open opponent. And he puts forth for Us a parable, and forgets his own creation…”
Furthermore, in Ma’arij al-Quloob volume 1 pg 64-65, the encounter of Imam Abu Hanifah with some atheists speaks volume of how intelligently and logically they ought to be engaged. An atheist asked Abu Hanifah, ‘what is the evidence pointing to the existence of Allaah?’
Imam Abu Hanifah replied: “Forget it! At the moment, I am busy thinking about this ship. People tell me there is a big ship; it contains different goods on board. There is no one to steer it, no one maintaining it.
Yet, this ship keeps going back and forth; it even traverses big waves on the oceans; it stops at the locations that it is supposed to stop at; it continues in the direction that it is supposed to head. This ship has no captain and no one planning its trips.”
The #atheist who posed the question interrupted and exclaimed, “What kind of strange and silly thought is this? How can any intelligent person think that some thing like this can occur?”
Imam Abu Hanifah then said: “I feel sorry about your state! You cannot imagine one ship running without some one looking after its affairs. Yet you think that for this whole #world, which runs exactly and precisely, there is no one who looks after it, and no one owns it.”
Hearing the reply, the #atheist was left speechless but he found out more about Haqq (The Truth) and proclaimed #Islam.
However, with all these evidences around pointing to the existence of Allaah; the unity, the complexity, the perfection and the orderliness in the universe, which even the greatest antagonists of Islam, such as Abu Jahl, Abu Lahb and their folks,
willingly believed in as explicitly presented in the Qur’an, is today difficult for some perceived intellectuals to accept.
An #AlJazeera online publication of September 18, 2018 exposes the intellectual and ideological warfare gradually creeping into the Muslim society of Nigeria. It is alarming and lamentable.
It equally raises the question of how poor or even the absence of effective parenting is in the society.
Additionally, it calls for a review on how parents and teachers ought to answer certain questions regarding the existence of Allaah raised by their wards.
It equally calls for the urgent need to go back to the methodology of the #Prophet ﷺ in nurturing young people as he did with Ibn Abbas RA, of introducing #Allaah to him at a very tender age in that famous hadith of “Guard Allaah, and He will guard you.”
Also, there is need to have a shift in paradigm of how religious studies are conducted in our societies. The tutors need to create a synergy between the Sacred, dated-not-to-be-outdated Islamic teachings and the contemporary reality.
This will enable them to succinctly and intelligently answer many doubtful questions taking their toll on the minds of young people. Factually, no question can overwhelm Qur’an and Sunnah.
This undoubtedly is a better approach than hitting a troubled young man when he asks questions regarding the existence of Allaah.
Notably, that the children of some Islamic clerics were among those interviewed as #undercover #atheists is not strange as even the son of Prophet Nuh AS betrayed the sacred call of his father.
And for those that opted for #atheism bcs they think #Islam is an obstacle to their desires, hopes and greed, & the pursuit of materialistic things, they have not truly understood the tenets of Islam. If they had, then it would have been easy to brush off such satanic whisperings
Everyday #Humanity is confronted with the astounding, #Miraculous #phenomenon of Allaah’s creation and the #consistency in the #Universe, yet he has #intelligently failed to see the #evidence of Allaah’s existence through this regularity in complexity!
In conclusion, man will forever #exhibit certain negative features destructive to his #spiritual makeup, unless the #light and liberating prowess of absolute #faith in #Allaah and belief in all matters of unseen tame them.
Note to #Atheists : If man has to see everything before he believes in their existence, then he has to see his own soul before he can believe in his own existence.
May Allaah protect our Iman (Faith) and that of our progeny.
