THREAD: My biggest takeaway from #BrettKavanaugh Fox News interview is that he wants a “fair process” but that process doesn’t include testimony from #MarkJudge or an #FBI background check on the allegations. THAT wld be fair.

No one, including the #kavanaugh family and of course the Ford family or anyone else coming forward on any side of those should be threatened or live in fear. That is plain wrong and unacceptable.

My second but no less central takeaway is his denial of binge drinking is not supported by some of his contemporaries.

#Kavanaugh denied he was a heavy drinker. Mark Judge, his friend is an admitted black out-level alcoholic, he was in a hard drinking secret society at Yale & his college roommate says he was a Black-out level drinker. bit.ly/2pxTDXU

3rd, #Kavanaugh has a history of misleading the public - he denied knowledge of using stolen emails from Democratic Senators related to controversial judicial nominations despite emails that show the thief - Manuel Miranda - that show shady behavior. bit.ly/2pyRLyb

#Kavanaugh interviewed & recommended controversial Bush judicial nominee Bill Pryor had said that #RoevEade was “the worst constitutional abomination”, suggested he hadn’t worked on the nomination personally & denied knowing Pryor’s views.

Let’s also remember that #Kavanaugh “respect” undermined by allegations from sources that he liked woman law clerks with a “certain look” - models. It’s contested but concerning given sources stmts. bit.ly/2Dtfslh

We don’t even have a full record from #Kavanaugh days in the Bush administration because the Senate Judiciary Committee has only seen about 7% of the potentially relevant documents. Even #SenGrassley got only abt half of what he asked for.

To return to #DrFord allegation, it isn’t just a “he said she said” when there are notes from 2012 with her statements to a therapist. #Kavanaugh wasn’t a #SCOTUS nominee then. That is highly relevant to her credibility.

There are new allegations, one of which we have no details about yet from #StormyDaniels attorney @MichaelAvenatti.

That #BrettKavanaugh wants to “clear his name” is understandable and he should have a full and fair #FBI background check to sort out all of the various pieces of information coming forward. If he were demanding that, he would be more credible.
