Thread. Nazi--#Kavanaugh posters found yesterday on the campus of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and all around the Hudson Valley region. Designed by The Daily Stormer (a reference to “Der Stürmer,” the Nazi tabloid), a webzine formerly known as Total Fascism.
2. Daily Stormer was launched in 2013 by Andrew Anglin, who embraced a Nazi ideology on the Daily Stormer.
3. Dailystormer.com was getting more than 10 million page views until it was shut down by GoDaddy and Google after remarks about the activist murdered in Charlottesville. It then briefly reappeared on a Russian domain.

Okay.
Here is a thread about why #Kavanaugh most likely doesn’t remember what happened with Dr. Ford, and why the #MeToo movement will make sure this never happens again.
It’s 1985 and a friend of mine has just secured a job as a receptionist/bookkeeper position at a small family owned law firm. The father is the head of the firm. He has two sons who work for him.
She’s just out of college and thrilled to have her first job. She doesn’t ask why the receptionist/bookkeeper before her left. She knows it’s a starting position and just assumes the previous person moved on.

#JudgeKavanaugh #TRUTH

Given the spin in the media and by leftist Hollywood/celebs + skewed (or fabricated) polls , it can sometimes be hard to know where the public stands on an issue. People tend to live in their "bubble" and get affirmed w/in their own echo chamber.
2/

While this is not a scientific method, I thought I would analyze data available on Twitter, which is open to all people but is known to skew things to the left, to see what the numbers tell us about support for or opposition to #JudgeKavanaugh.
3/

My method was simple. To avoid being "served" input from within my bubble, I did this analysis anonymously while logged out of Twitter. I pulled the 15 top results served by Twitter on a search of "Kavanaugh" and compiled these results, which are VERY interesting.

1) Columbus Day 2018 is half time at the 2018 Mid-Term Bowl. The score is GOP 17 and Democrats 16. Let’s recap the first half.

2) Going into the game the Democrats were riding their #BlueWave of enthusiasm. They were so confident America was tired of all the lies and sordid behavior of Coach Trump that the Democrats could win the game easily.
3) They laughed at their good fortune every time a GOP player would pledge to work closely with their coach; such easy pickings.

I realize the #justicekavanaugh confirmation has been a hyper-partisan issue (that by itself is very concerning for a Supreme Court nomination) 4 wks now but why have the #Hamilton68 Russian influencer accounts spent so much oxygen on this? Like #BeersforBrett ?
We looked at our roughly 310 Twitter accnts that we reversed engineered as #Hamilton68 accnts (described at dashboard.securingdemocracy.org) and we created wordclouds 4 various segmented categories of our Hamilton68 accounts over the past wk & highlighted them related 2 Judge #Kavanaugh
The first set we looked was our set of #Hamilton68 accounts that focus on Russian geopolitics. 14658 tweets were analyzed over a period of a week and #kavanaugh was the main hashtag promoted as it related to Judge Kavanaugh

Finally slept.

For a few days when I'd sleep I was either having nightmares about #Kavanaugh or, and this was a first, having nightmares about having nightmares about #Kavanaugh.

My poor puppies didn't know what the hell was going on...

"IT'S A NEW DAY. "

When people invoke platitudes like this it is usually done in order to being hope, to assert the positive aspects of what's ahead.

Not today.

There is nothing positive about this. We played the Super Bowl and we lost, but there is no rematch.

2/
Worse, one of the players for the other team is suddenly a fucking umpire and wants to review the tapes of all previous games and change some of the calls made by other, better umpires from games we had already won in the past.

It doesn't make sense.

None of it.

I have barely slept.I have been unable to stop thinking about #JamalKhashoggi. I knew him from when we both were columnists for #Saudi-owned Asharq al-Awsat b4 I was banned. We met just once, I think. But reports yest of his killing came same day as #Kavanaugh & my worlds collided
Trump has emboldened so many dictators, esp Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman. With so much attention been sucked up by US,the killing of Jamal, who wasn’t an esp outspoken critic,is sure to embolden regimes further & signal to dissidents & opponents that their harm will go unnoticed
To think that you could go to your country’s consulate to get paperwork for an upcoming wedding and be killed and dismembered because of your writing is horrific. It’s evil. And to know that the regime responsible for that has a best friend in the most powerful country in earth!

(1) Midterms are around the corner... Gotta say, the waters are changing. Reaction of today’s news is mostly POSITIVE. Even under liberal twitter feeds. They’re losing. Big time.
(2) Liberal celebrities, CNN pundits, Etc... are being chastised in the comments for expressing their views. The people are waking up and realizing they DON’T MATTER. We matter.
(3) the people who break their backs every day, the underdog, the average American. They feel good. I’m watching even hardcore liberal friends and dems, #walkaway. Those who call that a conspiracy theory, are mistaken.

I won't be lectured about majorities or electoral politics on the day #BrettKavanaugh was confirmed to #SCOTUS with the help of a goddamned Democrat.

I don't care where he's from or the demographics of his state. I don't care about any of that bullshit.

1/
He deserves some fire under his feet on the day he voted FOR a fucking lying racist rapist who is probably going to overturn ROE v. WADE and a host of other important pieces of legislation.

He could have called in sick.

He could have abstained.

2/
He could have stood on the Senate floor and said "I am casting this vote because my constituents have asked me to and I am their representative, but I personally strongly oppose this nominee, and support Professor Ford.

Instead he basically endorsed Collins speech.

#Kavanaugh tweet storm beginning now:

Today’s confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court is the most significant judicial victory for conservatives of my lifetime. All conservatives should thank @SenMajLdr & @ChuckGrassley for their extraordinary leadership through a grueling battle.

2/
Moving the court from 5-4 liberal to 5-4 conservative will have sweeping ramifications for the country. Most importantly, it will restore the rule of law & the Constitution. Democrat efforts to end run state legislatures, Congress & the executive branch will now be fruitless.

Big #Republican influencers were there at the beginning, the funders behind the organization called the @FedSoc that selected #Kavanaugh.

(Per White House itself, #FederalistSociety was “insourced” to White House for this.)
Big #Republican influencers were there after selection, behind the multi-million #darkmoney campaign to pressure Senators on #Kavanaugh.
Big #Republican influencers loomed over the Senate during hearings and votes, and are ecstatic today claiming their prize.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN: Poised to work Saturday night arraignments, 5PM to 1AM, representing poor New Yorkers arrested in the last 24 hours. I’m the felony conflicts attorney and have the pleasure of working with my @BklynDefender colleagues.
I say “arrested in the last 24 hours” and people have a legal right to be brought before a judge within 24 hours of arrest, but many people wait much longer.
The reason there are excessive delays tonight is b/c there's an issue w/ fingerprinting in central booking. When I arrive the courtroom is empty, but for some @CourtWatchNYC volunteers. I say hi & tell them about the problem, b/c I don't want them to be waiting for nothing.

Age of Supreme Court Justices:
Five conservatives: Avg. age 61, Median age 63
Four liberals: Avg. age 71, Median age 71
You may think that #Kavanaugh replacing Kennedy (who was considered the "swing vote" on the Supreme Court) will result in a major shift to the right. Yet it's worth noting that Kennedy - in the courts last term that ended in June - voted consistently with conservatives /1
/2
The court made 63 decisions in its last term. Of those, 19 were 5-4 rulings. "Swing vote" Kennedy voted with conservatives (Roberts, Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch) 14 times. He voted with the liberal justices (RBG. Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan) zero times (SacBee analysis) ##

THREAD―FAILED STRATEGY: HOW DEM LEADERS BUNGLED #Kavanaugh

I'm seeing a lot of blame going around so I want to provide some clarity on what I believe Dems did wrong. First and foremost, they failed to realize that the GOP would use their majority to seat Kavanaugh AT ALL COSTS.
THREAD―FAILED STRATEGY

Understanding that the GOP would not settle for anything less than Justice Kavanaugh, Democrats should have walked out of what they called a "charade" and a "sham." When you call something a sham and then participate in it, you're legitimizing it.
THREAD―FAILED STRATEGY

Democrats had ample reason to refuse to participate: Kavanaugh was nominated by a president who may have committed federal crimes. His records were being withheld. And so on. Simply applying the #MerrickGarland standard, Kavanaugh didn't merit a hearing.

Schon jetzt hat #Hambibleibt viel gebracht, vieles aufgezeigt, was in unserer Gesellschaft falsch läuft. Das geht weit über Klimaschutz hinaus. Während Rechte in mehreren dt Städten fast ungehindert wüten durften, wurden gegen Hambi-AktivistInnen tausende PolizistInnen eingesetzt

•➣ @SenatorCollins & @RonJohnsonWI claim there was no corroborating evidence to support Dr. Ford's allegations against #Kavanaugh. That is a LIE. Corroborating evidence was provided to the Judiciary Committee. Either Grassley didn't share it with you or you LYING. Which is it?
Grassley committee staffers tried to discredit Deborah Ramirez by suggesting to other witnesses that her allegation against Kavanaugh was a case of mistaken identity. The EXACT same lie you fell for re Dr. Ford, @SenatorCollins @JeffFlake @Sen_JoeManchin.
Kavanaugh lied under oath when he claimed he learned of Deborah Ramirez's allegation against from a Sep 23 @NewYorker story. You said you would oppose Kavanaugh's nomination if he's shown to have lied under oath, @JeffFlake. Stand by your word and vote NO.

Whatever happens today:
- Trump did not invent white supremacy or patriarchy.
- White supremacy and patriarchy will not end if Kavanaugh is not confirmed.
- Defy, disobey and disrupt white supremacy and patriarchy at every turn
- Make them fear you

My message is to white Americans who will spend today saying:
- “This isn’t the America I know” - it is and has been for a very long time and you should be asking why you just now paid attention. Where have you been?
To white American women who’ll spend today saying:
-“Roe v Wade! No more rapists in power!”
Rapists have been in power for centuries.Ask indigenous & Black women.Anti-choice legislation in several states already made abortion nearly impossible for many women of colour, poor women

I am genuinely shocked that @bensasse and other nominal conservatives will vote to put a partisan boor on the Supreme Court. I am bewildered, even. As a former Conservative MP, let me say that in Britain we would never approve such a man. Never.
Conservatives, and I bleed blue (in the UK that’s the conservative color) are supposed to respect and revere institutions. Culturally we see our party as a guardian of heritage and tradition. We would never approve a gambling, partisan, shouting, emotional hack to the Court.
We as legislators, were we in the GOP’s position, would say to the President “sir, try again. Not voting for this shouty clown Kavanaugh.” You go talk to the whips, pass it up channels. There is no rush for the GOP. Easy aye vote on Gorsuch. Just give us another nominee.

Hey @SenatorCollins,

It’s not too late to change your vote! #Kavanaugh LIED to the Senate (#felony) about his finances.🤨

Who paid off his debt? If his family paid, did he report this income to the IRS⁉️

If the House flips, @tedlieu WILL investigate‼️

Hey @lisamurkowski,

You were right and courageous to OPPOSE #Kavanaugh‼️

You might want to reconsider “pairing” your vote with @SteveDaines, because justice will come for #Kavanaugh, sooner than later.😉

Hey @Sen_JoeManchin,

We Democrats realize that you are in a tough re-election battle, but backing #Kavanaugh only brings you more scorn from the @GOP and erodes your much-needed support from @TheDemocrats base.

It’s not too late: vote NO on #Kavanaugh‼️
