I'm a veteran that suffers from PTSD & I rely on metal health services

Stand with me by demanding the Senate to #VoteNo on #GrahamCassidy
This topic is so important to me, it's one of the few times I use a real picture.
Veterans are about 20 percent more likely than nonveterans to kill themselves
How can you help?

Please call your Senators at

Tell them to #VoteNo on
I've been to Senators' offices & I know how powerful these calls are.

Please make your voices heard

Tell them to #VoteNo on #CassidyGraham
I'm glad I'm able to bring attention to PTSD

People struggle with it in their own ways

My challenge is insomnia (you can tell by my feed)
If you think you or someone you love is suffering from PTSD, here is a resource and info on the signs & symptoms.

Election issues that are important to me.

Voter integrity- making voting easier and ending gerrymandering

Climate change- we need to act immediately

Gun law reform- common sense gun laws

Immigration reform- let's fix the process to become a citizen

Jobs- good paying careers
Healthcare is a major issue to me.

That should have been number 1.
Its interesting that my brain went to the hot button issues immediately but after thinking about it for just a minute more, healthcare jumped out.

I suffer from PTSD due to my service.

Nobody questions if I have it and I don't need to explain how it occurred.

People believe me.

Why should it be any different for a woman who suffered from a sexual assault?

We should believe them too.
I have the safety of knowing that my trauma is over. I only speak about it when I choose to.

Survivors must relive their trauma to satisfy someone else's uncertainty.
I hear, "I understand if you don't want to talk about it."

Survivors get asked every single detail.

Something is going on but nobody seems to know what.

Whitehouse is talking to Sasse.

Coons has come back in from his meeting with Flake and is talking to Feinstein.

...hold up. Republicans walked out.
Coons is now talking to Durbin.

It looks like everyone is clearing out.

Something happened.
Grassley, Graham, and Hatch are the only Senators in the room.

They are seated facing forward.

This is surreal.

Thom Tillis.

I'm making it my personal mission to make sure you don't get re-elected in 2020.

If you thought 2014 was rough, just wait.
I know North Carolinians and I know veterans.

I have met with your office multiple times.

You will not get re-elected.
You don't have Cambridge Analytica to save you.

I know the pulse of N.C.

North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis and the state’s Republican Party paid $345,000 to a data company that is now under scrutiny for its use of personal information about Facebook users

The American spirit is something a storm can't break.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Florence I saw examples of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for their community.

Here are a few examples.

In Spring Lake, a woman organized a community supply drive where everyone came together to share their clothes, water, and food in order to service their neighbors.
In Willard I found a young man who took it upon himself to clean up his former elementary school grounds.

As I joined him he told me that it was just the right thing to do.

How do I explain a day like today to my son.

He is obsessed with Toad.
And yes, toads come in all shapes and sizes.
Trust me, I'm not having that type of talk with my son.
