1. Think Trump referring to Africa and Haiti as "shitholes" is bad? What about when Obama asked someone to pass the Poupon???
2. So what if hate crimes went up 20% in major US cities under Trump so far? Obama used to chew gum!!!
3. Trump has had multiple public disputes with grieving gold star families, but did you know Obama once saluted a military member while holding a LATTE!?!
4. Oddly enough, Fox News stopped doing whole segments dissecting presidential vacation time like they did before. Anyways here's one where they suggest Obama should've taken cabs while on vacation.
5. That time Fox News got mad at Michelle Obama for using rap and comedy to encourage kids to go to college.

THREAD: Trump is an easy villain to focus on, but I strongly believe that the system which put him in power is a bigger problem. When he says it's rigged, he means for ppl like him. Let's have a look at how much rigging has been going on since Republicans took the House in 2011.
If the thought of Russia interfering in your elections angers you, then you should keep that same energy for voter suppression and gerrymandering. Republicans are well-aware that the fewer people vote, the better chance they have of winning. They acted accordingly, so should you.
Income inequality is one of our most pressing issues, but for more reasons than one would expect. Thanks to Citizens United, it is now subverting the very concept of democracy. Your vote for safer gun laws matters a lot less if the NRA can buy a president for 30 million.
It's not just the constant dehumanization, it's also that the majority of white people agree enough to vote for people who do it. Seeing people like Matt Bevin and Steve King openly say racist things while holding office in 2018 is discouraging as fuck.
Who cares if Papa John loses his job when elected officials openly insinuate that black ppl are too dumb too play chess, america needs more white babies, or that my parents come from a shithole? Votes speak louder than words, and these ppl are all still in office. Msg received.
THREAD: Most misconceptions held by the Right end up cemented when they're repeated ad nauseam by either Fox News or the WH. So, I thought I'd put together some facts that I feel don't get repeated enough to help cut through the noise, and counter the disinformation.
"Why don't these refugees seeking asylum just come legally?" is a question often heard from conservatives. First of all, asylum has always been legal and capped. Second of all, the pathways to legal immigration are much more complicated than ppl think (as seen in the 1st graph).
"In 136 metro areas, almost 70 percent of those studied, the immigrant population increased between 1980 and 2016 while crime stayed stable or fell. The 10 places with the largest increases in immigrants all had lower levels of crime in 2016 than in 1980"
