12pm, #GoodFriday: “There was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.” When the Light of the world goes dark, not even the sun can shine.
c.2pm, #GoodFriday: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Suffocating to death, naked & in agony, he cries out for grace.
3pm, #GoodFriday: “It is completed!” The temple curtain is torn in two, the dead rise, and the centurion believes. Tetelestai.
7pm, #GoodFriday: “They rested according to the commandment.” Jesus is buried. John is crying. Peter is full of remorse. Judas is dead. Barabbas is alive. Cleopas is disillusioned. Caiaphas is smug.
Mary is waiting.

If you want to disentangle what people really think (or value) from what they say they think (or value), follow the money.
Don’t listen to what they *say* about TV show X, book Y or band Z. Look at what they *pay.* (Just today, for instance, a Radio 4 feature pointed out the difference when it comes to Friends—people say it’s not inclusive enough for them now, but stream it like crazy anyway.)
Similarly, ignore the posturing of CEOs and corporates about their values, unless they’re prepared to pay for them. If they champion liberal values here, where it may increase their revenue, dismiss it - unless they also champion them in countries where it could cost them sales.
