I think in terms of intellectual precedents. Others think to win political battles. As crucial as some of these are, are we winning battles only to lose the war? Is a culture of allegation, trial by the mob & guilt for expediency good for any of us? All sides seem to be doing it. Can anyone help me understand when an allegation should (as urgent as it may be) derail a career & when not? Or should every allegation derail a career? And when highly politicised careers are targets of derailment, when do our politics also get factored in. Or never? Or always?

TUNE IN: on my @LBC show today we interview this man Tapiwa Matukutire who was a victim of a terrible false tip off, and a traumatic arrest by immigration officers. Hear him being arrested naked infront of his 18 month old baby below #HostileEnvironment Read about it here: buzzfeed.com/amphtml/emilyd…

Pakistani PM Imran Khan’s concessions to the worst, bloodthirsty frothing fundamentalist inquisitors, continues unabated - just as all liberal Muslim commentators said it would. Aside from fact that according to the 1951 Citizenship Act, 60% Afghans born in Pakistan already have citizenship rights, this is good. Now, isn’t it time Arab countries granted Palestinians citizenship instead of abandoning generations in camps as fodder? voanews.com/a/pakistan-pm-…

This white man (I called him Matt) stood between me & racist thugs in Southend Essex, UK outside Chalkwell Park Fair, circa August 1993. They made me watch as they stabbed him multiple times. I was only 15. This man saved me. I never got to thank him. Please help me find him 🙏🏽 Please help me @CarlEveCrime See above

Labour leader Corbyn wanted to make this point at @UKLabour’s National Executive Committee yesterday. He was overridden. Regardless, it looks like he emboldened his bigoted supporters to vandalise London instead. Corbyn is responsible for this google.co.uk/amp/s/www.stan… And yet, Corbyn’s dogmatic disciples will still blame our collective disgust at his leadership on “the elite” and “the MSM”. It all sounds rather Trumpian, don’t you think? ft.com/content/142b8d…

@MrBenSellers This man is chief of staff for shadow minister @LauraPidcockMP under @jeremycorbyn’s #RegressiveLeft @UKLabour party. Here he mocks a 70 year-old Jewish woman whose family were murdered in the Holocaust. Observe socialists turning into National Socialists before your very eyes @MrBenSellers @LauraPidcockMP @jeremycorbyn @UKLabour He is white & privileged but clearly believes that his left-wing credentials immunise him from racism. Only a supreme sense of moral absolutism & righteousness (in other words poisonous ideological dogma) blinds people to their own arrogance in this way #CtrlLeftAltRightDelete

Criticising Islam is a “gateway drug” toward anti-Muslim hate as much criticising western foreign policy is a “gateway drug” toward jihadist terror. In other words, we should’ve realised how weak the concept of “gateway drug” was when snobby conservatives used to apply it to weed People tend to deploy inferior arguments defending their own position&attacking their opponent, while demanding superior standards from their opponent against their own position. Very few think consistently. Most use emotion to arrive at a conclusion, while “reason” is their cover

1) @OborneTweets attacks UK’s Muslimphobia watchdog @TellMamaUK while defending Islamist-riddled @MuslimCouncil
2) he writes for Islamist-front Middle-East Eye thenational.ae/uae/new-london…
3) When I used to be in Hizb ut-Tahrir, Oborne met us regularly & warmly. Surprise surprise. British Muslims are at a cross-roads. The Islamist ‘old-guard’ can no longer pull the wool over everyone’s eyes by pretending they’re liberal & secular. Your emperor has no clothes, and we can all see you. Until the MCB sheds all Jamat-e-Islami influence, it remains problematic.

You’re misconstruing @MelanieLatest: anti-Muslim bigotry exists. But criticising Islam as an idea, like any idea, is not only permitted,it’s an intellectual duty. Criticising the Brotherhood is political accountability, also a duty. Neither are “Islamophobia”, which is a misnomer So, it’s incorrect to compare criticising Islam or Islamists, to anti-semitism. A correct comparison is between anti-Muslim bigotry & anti-semitism. And when contrasting these two, anti-semitism is not only proportionately worse, its disproportionate perpetrators are us, Muslims

1) my full @LBC clip is hopefully coming soon, meanwhile: criminalising @CountDankulaTV for cracking a joke you find offensive, even if he’s being defended by people who *you don’t like*, is tyranny. 2) What the joke was, who said it & who’s defending @CountDankulaTV are all irrelevant to the principle of free speech. In fact, defending speech you agree with isn’t defending free speech at all, it’s defending yourself. Defending free speech *only* applies when you disagree.
