I usually don’t want live hearings and instead read the synopsis later. I have an anxiety disorder and I’ve found this helps manage it. But last week I stayed home and watched every second of Dr Ford and Kavanaugh. I still haven’t recovered #StopKavanaugh#BelieveSurvivors /1
I wanted to bear witness to Dr Ford’s story. Part of me believed that all the women watching could collectively send support her way. Dr Ford was brave and patriotic and I’m deeply grateful she opened her trauma to try and save us #BelieveSurvivors#StopKavanaugh /2

Men have been accusing us of hysteria for hundreds of years for deigning to speak up for our rights. I have spent much of my adult life arguing against the hysterical label, explaining how sexist it is. At this point fuck it. Damn straight I'm hysterical #StopKanavaugh /1
I'm hysterical because this accusation has always been used to control women. We were burned at the stake for being witches, put in sanatoriums, had forced hysterectomies & oophorectomies, were sterilized, & we're too emotional to decide if we want an abortion #SaveRoe /2

Based on my mentions it seems we might need a lesson on intimate partner violence. Intimate partner violence impacts all relationships of all sexual orientations and colors. /11/4 women has experienced intimate partner violence in her life while 1/7 men has. 85% of DV victims are women. 1/3 of all women murdered in the US are killed by a IPV (a gun in the home increases the risk 5x). Trans people are 2.6x more likely to be victims of IPV /2

Let's have a conversation about #healthcare that's larger than who pays for it shall we? For this thread I'm going to assume we can pass #MedicareForAll and insurance is no longer an issue. Now let's talk about what problems would still exist for women's healthcare /1
In this scenario #Medicare4All has been passed with the repeal of #Hyde so we don't have a problem funding abortions for anyone! But wait...does that overturn #TRAP laws? Waiting periods? Personhood bills? Heartbeat bills? 20 week bans? Specifically fund Planned Parenthood /2

On #HolocaustMemorialDay remember the 11 million people killed by the Nazis in camps due to hatred and bigotry. 6 million Jews were murdered as well as 5 million disabled people, political dissidents, and LGBT people. Let's also remember how this bigotry started & the US role /1
The US ignored many warning signs of anti-Semitism and Fascism in Germany and refused help to Jewish refugees. Many in the US, Europe, and even Germany justified Hitler's rise w/ economic worries and ignored the anti-Semitism and fascism #HolocaustMemorialDay /2
