A new church in Spokane and being “dedicated“ in October on the curb outside of our local Planned Parenthood for the purpose of “assaulting the gates of hell“ with worship and street preaching. One of the primary organizers is Jake Eakin, convicted murderer with a long history of violence.

A glance at his Facebook page shows that he perpetuates the myth of the ”abortion holocaust” which was created out of outrage and a disregard for facts.

I’m not a tiny bit surprised by what this includes. I am quite a bit surprised by how blatant it has become.

This is the one of the first solid, self-driven nails in the coffin of Evangelical Christianity‘s irrelevance.

Hey #Exvangelical Twitter and those who follow us - little reminder that most people who leave the church also get shunted to the outsides of their own families by a religious belief that real community only exists in Christ, and that’s excruciating. This is a political #Exvangelical #emptythepews thread with a heavy dose of #youdontknowevangelicals When I was choosing my Evangelical college, PCC was one of my few approved options. It has a pretty decent nursing program, and I was toying with going to school for that, but I knew, even then, that it possibly was the most conservative of all the schools I had access to.

White is not a race.

White is a common identity built around perceived superiority, oppression, and atrocity. White folks voluntarily gave up their various cultural identities for this common identity based around skin color because power was more important to them than culture. This still happens.

Non-Christians: Why do Christian wives of abusive husbands stick around in their marriages?

Every single #Exvangelical: THEY WERE TAUGHT THIS WAS THE BEST THEY COULD GET. As I revisit some of these interviews and surveys from my spiritual abuse/domestic violence study, I notice how many of these (mostly) women said they just didn’t know how messed up their marriages were because their husband’s behavior was what they had been taught to expect.

A Beka, BJU Pub, and ACE do not properly teach science or history. David Barton is not a respectable historian. Ken Hamm is not a respectable scientist. If your approach to science or history education is to twist reality to match the narrative you want, consider that a red flag. I am still grappling with the frustration and embarrassment of realizing in adulthood I was not given a proper scientific or historical foundation in my education. There are things I was taught were facts that absolutely are not and things that were skipped over entirely.
