As we commemorate the 4th anniversary of the abduction of the #ChibokGirls tomorrow, April 14, let me again assure the parents and families that their daughters will never be forgotten or abandoned to their fate.
I appeal to the parents to keep their hopes alive regarding the return of their daughters. The recent safe return of more than 100 of the #DapchiGirls, following the determined efforts of the Federal Government, should give all of us confidence that all hope is not lost.
My administration remains focused and determined to see that the remaining #ChibokGirls and Leah Sharibu return safely to their homes and their families. Rest assured that we are doing our very best to free the girls from their captors.

Tomorrow, I will be tweeting rare insights on the rest of the #ChibokGirls in captivity. How many are alive and the need for the parents to know the truth, no matter how unpleasant the revelation is.
1/ Four years ago, a middle ranking BH commander led dozens of fighters in search of food and other supplies in the remote town of Chibok, like an afterthought, they saw a chance to abduct school girls in GSS Chibok, the girls at the time were preparing for their exams.
2/ The dozens of BH fighters faced no opposition during the abductn, as they struggled to convey their captives to the forest of Alagarno, the insurgent's first war capital, which they named Timbuktu. It was in Timbuktu that they organised most of the horror we experience today.

The Liberation Of The #DapchiGirls:Apparently It Was Not Money But A Convergence Between A Blue Moon & An Exceptional Stroke Of Good Fortune Which Nicked It. Incredible But True @segalink
Tonight, I was on the phone for one hour plus with sources who were effectively at the very, very firstline of those who swung this for Nigeria
My lead narrator is someone who is known to be averse to transactional releases. That, his credibility & his known sense of balance made me lend a listening ear

Fellow Nigerians. I’m certain we have all expressed our disappointment in our leaders over several recent happenings but let me weigh in on the #DapchiGirls matter having consulted with reliable/objective sources with no reason to lie or give in to prevarication.
The administration have themselves to blame for the loss of the trust of the people. At times like this Govt and the people should be reasoning together and giving account of stewardship instead of trying to win people over after a successful milestone in peace talks.
The cessation of hostilities between Govt forces & those of the insurgents (BH) took a lot of commitment from a constellation of people and it was the success of these talks that led to the release of the #DapchiGirls & all sources corroborated the fact that No Payment was made.

This brings me to the findings of my investigation on why Government (Administrations) lie. (Thread). 🧐
Evil does not exist within a Government. I disagree it resides in @AsoRock been there a couple of times & still came out sane. Evil exists in the minds and hearts of those who interpret Leadership as Rulership and pull the trigger for evil purposes, then deploy lies as cover up.
We can agree that MURDER is illegal. (But authorities Murdered the Shiias right before our very own eyes). Attempting murder is illegal. A felon owning a gun is illegal (See Fulani Militia/BH/NDAvengers). Shooting people indiscriminately is illegal (see SARS & Police Impunity)...

Our latest reporting on the #DapchiGirls kidnap revealed a lot about the civil war tearing at Boko Haram. Here's a thread: wsj.com/articles/niger…
1) An Islamic State-backed faction led by Abu Musab al-Barnawi--& not Boko Haram leader Abubakr Shekau - was responsible for the Dapchi kidnap.
2) We reviewed encrypted comms showing Barnawi's faction in regular contact with Islamic State emirs in Syria, Iraq and Libya. They have their own slickly-produced news channel (al-Hakik - or "credible") distributed on Telegram.
