Yesterday I asked my followers to use #FreeBobiWine to protest the #Uganda govt torture of the pop star, charged w/treason. After nearly 24 hr stand-off at airport, midnight last night Bobi + wife were allowed to fly to Boston for medical treatment. aljazeera.com/news/2018/09/b…
Once #BobiWine reaches Boston MDs, the damage done to his body will be documented, evidence of torture. Bobi is a singer & Member of Parliament. He + 32 other opposition Parliamentarians were arrested & tortured, as #Museveni clings to his 32-yr reign of power.
The U govt allowed Bobi to leave, but his little children had to remain in Uganda to ensure Bobi's return. To appreciate why musicians & human rts activists worldwide are calling #FreeBobiWine watch his pop hit sweeping African music charts, "Freedom".

Among the 30 other Ugandans are four women. Their names appear last on the list on the charge sheet. The story centers only prominent figures as it should but often ordinary citizens fighting along, their stories become a footnote. #FreeBobiWine.
I choose to highlight stories of these women because while ordinary people's stories get lost, women at or caught in political contestations easily vanish from our tale of the day's events. #FreeBobiWine

You've got Bobi Wine profile picture & on #FreeBobiWine. You're angry with Museveni. Upset by violence. Irked by bloodshed in Uganda. Yet you cheered on while police killed hundreds of opposition supporters last year because your candidate was in power. Spare us your fake outrage
When Uhuru and Ruto wanted to hit back at ICC, they called on their gaslighting Orangutan uncle Yoweri Museveni. He was cheered for his inflammatory rhetorics. Kenya supported a monster in Uganda. It has no moral authority to call for sanity and order in UG with bloody hands.
The revolution in Uganda is being televised. It's being self-broadcast on social media and collectively owned through individual experiences. These are things Museveni cannot court-martial, jail or arrest.
