Sometimes I think the only question that matters is how does any adult convince themselves that it is ok to be a(n) racist, sexist, agist, homophobe, abuser, liar, hater, elitist, rapist, etc?

The truth is everytime someone displays the hate, they are showing you how wounded they are. It does not excuse their choices to act out the hate.
But realizing they are wounded can help to prevent you from taking on their anger and hate.

To create a fertile ground for hate one simply has to make resources scarce and convince one group that another group has taken what should be theirs.

The formal suspension of the accession talks with Turkey has nothing to do with Erdogan and his authoritarianism but with the upcoming European elections and populism on rise in Europe.

I would rather suggest EU politicians to take bolder steps to make Europe visible in TR, put more pressure on their governments & E. Commission to treat all accession countries equally and better engage with Turkish democrats.

Some things in the first year were fun: meeting like-minded people, the #scifi characters, learning how to take effective action. Celebrating #victories like beating the #ACA repeal bills.
