Perhaps there would be less skepticism about #Sláintecare if we had a good plan for the current ‘private’ infrastructure, which is much bigger than just a few private hospitals, and more complex than is appreciated. Also, it serves a lot of patients. So here’s a plan...1
The ‘private’ infrastructure includes private hospitals, including two that are co-located with big public hospitals. It also includes consultants offices or ‘rooms’, which can be off-site or located within the campus of a public hospital or a private hospital...2
Those private offices or ‘rooms’ have clinical rooms, waiting rooms, consultation rooms, reception staff, nurses, midwives, sonographers, etc. For #Slaintecare to work, much of that infrastructure will have to be integrated into the public system early on. 3.
