Brand-new and remarkable: #today, in a speech before #industry-representatives, chancellor Angela #Merkel used an old-fashioned, and,I think, INAPPROPRIATE,mathematical term to describe the #Brexit discussions..
.. in the #UK.

On 20180925, 9:50 CET, (cf. bdi.eu/der-bdi/termin…), chancellor Merkel said the following: "Wesentlich hängt es natürlich auch davon ab, was Großbritannien denn wirklich möchte. Auch da ist ja die Diskussion nicht so ganz eineindeutig [sic],
und, das muss ich..
.. allerdings sagen: Man kann nicht zum Binnenmarkt gehören, wenn man in EINEM Teil nur zum Binnenmarkt gehören will, aber in drei ANDEREN Teilen nicht zum Binnenmarkt gehört, und da müssen wir verschiedene, äh, vernünftige Wege [ rest drowned out by applause ]."

FAKE NEWS

This is so brilliant I just had to show it to you.

People making audition tapes for fake news.
I hope this becomes a trend. I would love to see more videos like this for the next two months. Please around your family and friends together and make one of these. The more ridiculous to the better!

I suppose we can safely say that now #TheFrighteners have been so successfully and publicly put on a certain sector their combined angst will spew a diarrhoea of spin & warp whilst trying to use THAT VERY THING to generate $£Es Some with automated AdTech software already bought.
2/ Some bought by gormless companies, by mistake, some in full knowledge or partial knowledge of what it could do. It will be interesting as time goes on to see who apparently DIDN'T CARE about the likely instigation of its more negative 'dark' capabilities looking to 'side-step'
3/ or even 'wrong-foot' Irish & EU regulation standards, & possibly law. This too is a kind of #climatechange & #ClimateAction in itself, a would be mammoth untouchable iceberg of 'dominion' & 'control' being melted out into an ocean of citizens' scrutiny & advancement for change

Let's talk a little about #history, #language, and #languagechange. Many of the world's languages evolved from historical #protolanguages and have sister and cousin languages in their family, similar to how animals are classified.
For example, #English is a #WestGermanic language within the #IndoEuropean family.

Meanwhile, languages like #Basque are #isolates, meaning they have no known language relatives. There are some fringe theories about Basque, but none that are widely-accepted.
Take a look at your #language or languages you like on ethnologue.com. Comment below on any surprising facts you find or any questions that come up!

Earlier, the subject of correcting child #language came up. That's a perfect segue to patterns of #acquisition for kids & adults

Both groups of learners will tend to go thru predictable patterns of errors and stages, regardless of language. Let's discuss some examples
U-shaped behavior: this is when someone gets super good at something, gets worse for awhile, then improves again

#languageteachers see this a lot and it's frustrating when you think, wait, "Student X just used the past tense perfectly all quarter! What are they doing now?!"
Overapplication: Maybe your kid or student learned how to form plurals! Except now, everything is marked (or double marked) for plural and you may hear things like gooses, dogses, rices, etc

Myth #5 (last of today): Language does NOT alter your cognition/inherent world view.

Of course, #language effects your life the same way your #culture, home town, or environment does. But what it doesn't do is give you non-linear time powers like in #TheArrival.
A great (not jargon-y) episode of @lexiconvalley talks about this with @JohnMcWhorter as the host:

1/ Manu (The progenitor of Humankind)
All different races of Mankind are derived from Manu and Shradha. The current Manu is Vaivasvata Manu.
2/ The word Manu literary means man but it is a title given to the progenitor of mankind. According to Hindu Puranas there are many kalpas (One day of Lord Brahma the creator) and each Kalpa has 14 manvantara and each manvatara has one manu. So basically each Kalpa has 14 Manus.
3/ The current manu of the present manvantara is Shraddhadeva or Vaivasvata Manu of this current Kalpa. He is the son of Vivasvat (Probably Surya) and is therefore also known as Manu-vaivasvata.
