Marches don't do shit to solve the problems we face as a nation. Due to gerrymandering, Citizens United, NRA and cheating (Scotus, stolen election) we have no opportunity to hold our representatives accountable $ is their only constituent. #FamiliesBelongTogetherMarch
#Resisters stop hoping that either #Mueller or #midterm2018 will right the wrongs of this regime. Realize we must be prepared to simultaneously attack and employ different tactics to win. We have to think out-of-the-box and #justdoit as 1st #womensmarch #msdstrong @MomsDemand
It's time to take a cue from our global trading partners and those who boycotted NC due to HB2 (Bathroom Bill). I propose a nation-wide boycott of GOP states and/or districts until families reunited, #puertorico #flint #BLM #DACA, #ACA #SCOTUS…

🕊(1) We’ve heard a lot about nothing being done after #Parkland but the truth is quite a lot is being done. March 14, a month after the tragedy, Senate Judiciary held a hearing with @marcorubio @SenBillNelson as witnesses and here is what we learned #SeeSomethingSaySomething
(2) In his opening statements @ChuckGrassley noted that after Newtown he and @tedcruz had proposed legislation that would’ve helped prevent this but politics buried it, they’ve since reintroduced the bill along with two others one named after the school.
(3) Michael Carrol of Florida’s Department of Children and Families closed the Cruz case despite noting him mentally ill, he refused to testify as did @browardsheriff @ScottJIsrael #SeeSomethingSaySomething #Parkland

A group of Black students from Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High called a press conference today to say they have concerns that may not mirror those of their white peers. And that the media should listen. #MSDStrong
Kai says while some might feel comfort to have more police officers at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, he does not. He says it's intimidating & that black students will face most of the consequences of an overmilitarized predominantly white school.
Tyah-Amoy a Marjorie Stoneman Douglas student said conversations about gun violence have to include police violence. She asked, the same people who showed up for #MarchForOurLives--will they show up for #StephonClark? #AltonSterling? #SandraBland?

Here on #MarchForOurLives day I'd like to mention the forgotten victims, the ones who *don't* die. A brief thread.
2. We know the numbers of dead - well, most of us do. My memory is damaged, and the numbers escape me. But - 17 at #MSDStrong . So many at Pulse, so many at Las Vegas, so many here, so many there. The dead ones.
3. But little attention gets paid to those who are shot but live. "So many dead, so many wounded."
The wounded Never. Get. Well. Never.
They get better, but they don't get well.
Read 15 tweets… Don’t get me wrong @davidhogg111, I appreciate your gesture of calling out the media for the lack of black faces in the aftermath of the incident at our school, but I don’t recall (nor do any of our black peers at Douglas) getting any invites from you to
join the #NeverAgain “figureheads” at any of your meetings or interviews. This is not the first time you have called out racial disparity, but you have yet to take tangible action to help change it with your classmates. So here’s my challenge to you: allow me to be the first
Volunteer to take a seat at the table with you guys to advocate for a cause that has affected everyone at MSD regardless of race. After all, as has been preciously stated in the media, “these parkland kids are eloquent and outspoken,” and just like you, I fall into that category.

With the term hero being thrown around indiscriminately, I thought I'd share a few observations on true heroism demonstrated before, during and in the aftermath of the Parkland shooting. #NeverAgain #Parkland #MSDStrong

A hero shelters others despite personal danger #NeverAgain #Parkland #MSDStrong

Close to 20 years ago, I began work on a book that would be subtitled "The Missing Movement for Gun Control in America." At time of the first wave of school shootings (Columbine & precursors), 3 things were stymying the movement. 1/14
1) lack of money; 2) unrealistic policy goals; 3) and a message that just wasn't inspiring everyday sympathizers. 2/14…
Much has changed. The movement is no longer missing. 3/14…

THREAD: President Donald J. Trump, you do not have my permission. Please do not use the murder of my daughter to further your agenda to discredit the Russian investigation. My family and I have not even heard from you since this happened.
This is not a political problem, it’s a public safety problem. If you want to stand by me to discuss that and effect change in gun violence, then I will stand by your side,
but you do not have my permission to use my daughters death to your political benefit regarding Russia in your tweets.”

-Mr. Fred Guttenberg, eulogizing his 14 year old daughter Jaime, at her funeral
