Badmus passed several bills that were approved for the development of the nation.
When his tenure as a senator was over, he was urged by majority of the house to contest for the position of the senate president.
It was a flawless victory for him as his major rival stepped down. He was elected as the senate president unopposed. #DemocracyDay
As senate president he contributed immensely to the development of his Nation. His efforts were recognised, Despite the increasing amount of failed leaders in the Nation, People were relieved when they knew Badmus was in power. He was a man of integrity. #DemocracyDay
The country had lost the president and Vice in a plane crash en-route to a summit.
It was a sad day for the Nation.
As the 3rd Citizen of the nation, Senator Badmus was appointed as the president with less than a year to the next election. #DemocracyDay
In 6 months Badmus had commissioned more projects with the little resources the past administration of 3 years had left behind. He focused majorly on youth empowerment and education. The people loved him. They clamoured for him to run for presidency in the forthcoming elections.
An emergency meeting was scheduled by the party chiefs of People's Alliance Party. (PAP)
“Congratulations on your achievements as President within this short period. ” The Party leader hailed.
“We will like you to run for presidency under this party.” He added. #DemocracyDay
“I have thought about it, and I will be glad to serve my nation if given the opportunity.” Badmus replied. #DemocracyDay
We will be very brief on this.
Until the untimely death of the former president and his vice, we made his tenure successful.”
“He abided by the rules on this contract.” the contract was passed to him.
The duplicate was read by the vice chairman.
“You will abide by the following rules.
- 15% of the National budget must be assigned to us.
- Mr. Clark the Ex petroleum minister must be vindicated.
- We will influence the selection of your cabinet.
- you will do everything possible to protect the previous finance minister.
Failure to comply with this, we will present another candidate for the forth coming elections.
The Vice added.
How President Badmus looked at the contract.
He was shocked at the terms he was given.
The percentage of the national budget illegally allocated to the party was too high for a developing economy.
The Ex petroleum minister was currently tried for looted funds by the financial crimes commission, He was clearly guilty. Also people clamoured for the finance minister to be probed for misappropriation of funds. Protecting these two could tarnish his credibility.
“Are you ready to comply or not?” The Party chief asked.
How Badmus looked at him.
“I will give you feedback next week. I have to ponder on this” said Badmus
“Next week it is. We await your response.” Said the Party leader.
Badmus left looking down and pressurised.
Badmus was in a state of confusion. He wept for the Nation. He wondered how a small group of people could inflict pain on the Nation for selfish gains.
He consulted his political godfather chief Otunba.
Chief Otunba was the backbone of his political career. He raised him from an errand boy in his organisation to the seats of the National Assembly. (Check Diary of a nymph PT2 to know more about Badmus and Otunba’s relationship)
“Daddy, I had a meeting with the party chiefs today”
“How did it go?”
Badmus gave an expressionless look.
Badmus dropped a copy of the contract for chief to read.
“This is rubbish” chief yelled
“I introduced most of those fools to politics. See what they have turned it to? We need to sort this out once and for all for the good of this nation.” He added.
Chief Otunba confronted the party chief.
“I saw the contract. It’s appalling that in a democratic Nation such terms are still offered. I brought Badmus to this party, and will move him to another party if you don’t give him the power to run this nation without your interference.”
“That boy is a coward, so he ran like a timid puppy to the arms of his godfather.” The Party leader said with sarcasm.
We will frustrate his government if he doesn’t adhere to the terms in the contract.” The vice added.
“You must be drunk! Prepare for my wrath.” Otunba said angrily as he left.
Badmus thought of cancelling his presidential agenda.
He met chief Otunba.
“Daddy, once this tenure is over, I won’t run for office.” Badmus said.
“I understand your plight. If you refuse to run, someone more corrupt will assume office and the cycle will continue.” Otunba insisted.
“You are a good man with great intentions for this Nation, I will do everything within my power to ensure you win this election. You have the ability to move this Nation forward.” Otunba assured him.
“How do we go about it?” Badmus asked.
“You have to form a new political party, other political parties have bad eggs too.”
Badmus, Otunba and other politicians with a positive dream for the Nation created a new political party, it was called The National Democratic Commission (NDC).
Their focus was on empowering the nation.
They created awareness for the masses. In time they started gaining support.
The Party chiefs of PAP presented Hassan for the presidential race. Hassan was an ex Governor. During his tenure as a Governor he was charged for several corrupt practices. He bribed his way out. People had mixed feelings but he still gained followers due to the party’s influence
The PAP party were masters in the art of propaganda, most of their candidates had been elected through this.
They knew Badmus was a strong rival, they decided to dig into his past.
They searched tirelessly for a flaw on Badmus, but couldn’t find any, until a photo emerged.
It was a Nude photo of Badmus and Jane in (Diary of a nymph PT2).
The picture went viral, several blogs carried it.
It was a national disgrace.
Badmus’ reaction when he saw the picture.
He knew his enemies were at work. He couldn’t face the public and his reputation was at stake.
Badmus met Otunba.
“The picture has resurfaced again, I thought we had gotten rid of it.” Badmus asked.
“The only person with another copy is Madam Gold. she has to tell us how the picture resurfaced.” Otunba said assertively.
“But She’s still in prison, how could she have leaked it?” Badmus asked.
Madam Gold had been sentenced to 25years imprisonment for human trafficking.(Read Diary of a nymph PT2)
Otunba visited her.
“How could you release such photos to the public? After all I did for you?” Otunba asked.
“I didnt have an option, they threatened to wipe out my family.”
“Who?” Otunba Thundered.
“The PAP party” Madam Gold said hesitantly.
Chief was not surprised.
“I will guarantee the safety of your family, and Badmus will reduce your Jail term. All I need is for you to provide evidence that the photo was doctored.”
Chief assured.
“I have a flash drive embedded in the Tile under the UPS of my office, there’s a folder titled Badmus & Jane, check there for the video of the set up.” she said.
Otunba's reply.
Otunba left the prison yard fulfilled. He told Badmus everything.
Badmus used his influence to recover the flash Drive from her office which was already under the custody of NAPTIP
The video showing the setup was posted on several Blogs to vindicate Badmus.
He was happy the masses believed him.
Otunba fulfilled his promise by sending Madam Gold’s family out of the country.
He met Badmus.
“Son, now that we have vindicated you, we have to play dirty.” Said chief Otunba.
“How do we go about it?” Badmus asked.
“focus on your campaign and Leave that to me. I don’t want to soil your hands. It is a surprise package.” Otunba said as he left.
3 WEEKS TO ELECTION.
The PAP party realised their grip on Badmus was gone.
They had to focus on plan B.
Plan B was to use their financial influence to secure more votes. They offered incentives to the masses to buy votes.
Badmus was worried. His party didn’t have the finances to run a lavish campaign like the PAP party. He was able to win the hearts of few masses who wanted the best for the nation.
2 DAYS TO ELECTIONS.
Badmus knew the odds were against him. He resorted to defeat before the Election Day had arrived. He sat to prepare a congratulatory message for Hassan and the PAP party.
While counting his loss.
His phone rang. It was Otunba.
“Check the news!” Otunba said hastily and hung up before Badmus could say anything.
Badmus was surprised when he saw the news. He couldn’t believe his eyes.
A leaked video of Hassan his rival accepting the terms he had rejected from the party was on the news.
The footage was very clear, no one could deny its originality.
He remembered Otunba’s promise. He wondered how Otunba was able to pull such stunt.
He ran to Otunba’s house. On seeing Otunba, Badmus fell to his feet.
“Daddy thank you!” He exclaimed.
“The PAP party thought they could play dirty. They have forgotten I am the master of this game.” Otunba bragged.
“How did you get the Video?” Badmus asked.
“Getting the video was a piece of cake, I still have loyalists in the PAP party.”
The Video had gone viral. People were shocked at the Terms the party offered Hassan.
The PAP party members when they saw the video on the news.
They knew there were in all kinds of trouble.
The Youths were angry, they took to the streets. They were fed up with bad leadership. Enough is enough. They protested.
Mr Hassan was interviewed by the press.
“It’s obvious the video wasn’t doctored, What do you think of the scandal?”
“I will get away with it, as usual. Watch and see.” He bluffed.
The masses grabbed Hassan immediately.
Some members of the PAP party hid themselves.
Badmus and chief enjoyed the confusion in the PAP party. They were glad the masses were awake to see what the Nation had suffered in their hands.
ELECTIONS DAY.
“People queued to cast their votes. News of the atrocities committed by the PAP party had taken a toll on the mind of the masses.”
People waited patiently to hear the results of the election.
The results were announced, Badmus won by a landslide.
Badmus was elected as president of the Nation.
Badmus passed a bill on death penalty for any corrupt leader who embezzles public funds.
Majority of the Senate supported the Bill.
All Corrupt leaders were tried, and Justice was served.
Within 2 years of his administration, Badmus commissioned several projects. His focus on youth empowerment paid off as the economy of the nation blossomed.

I was pinned to the ground. I watched them take turns on me. 4 of them. My pubic region hurt badly. I closed my eyes awaiting death to lay its icy hands on me. But life was keen to show me a side I never wanted to experience.
Mary walked into the house sobbing. "Mum, I'm tired of men. infact men are scum."
"Why dear?" Lizzy asked.
"Tunde broke up with me."
"And you generalise men as scum because of that?"
"Yes mum. I've heard many bad stories about men."
"What can you say of your dad?"
"He is nice. You are lucky to have him."
"Seat down, young woman. Let me tell you a story of my life."
“Bayo, I’m pregnant. What are we going to do about it?” Uduak asked
There was an awkward silence.
He looked down at his manhood. “ Shey you see wetin you don cause. Konji na bastard.” He thought to himself.
Bayo had just been transferred to Calabar to manage a new branch of his firm. Despite the promotion he felt lonely and sad. Distance had separated him from Bolanle - the love of his life:
He rented a 2 bedroom apartment at the heart of Calabar. Marian to be precise.
He loved everything about the City. It was cool, calm, Clean and green unlike the Lagos hustling and bustling of people.

Shall we?
I introduced my sister to her. She gave a wry smile and walked inside.
I could sense danger beneath the smile. I dragged my sister and ran after her.
She slammed the door on us.
“Brother Joe, Who is she?” Mary asked.
I was tongue tied. telling her the truth would disappoint her.
“I’m ready to confess everything to you. If you chose to hear me out.”
Jenny gave a long pause still trying to process the shocking confession she was about to hear.
“Ok Joe, go ahead.” She said in a low tone.
“I had just gained admission into the prestigious University of Lagos. Mum and Dad died in a car crash en route to my matriculation. It was the worst day of my life.
Fred hustled for years without reward. Every available option failed. Living from hand to mouth was a miracle as the chances of surviving the next day became a gamble.
His only escape was ‘Corporate begging.’
He laced his shoe, tucked in his shirt and set off for the daily hustle.

“You have been sentenced to 25 years in prison with hard labour.” The Judge said. The sound of the Gavel shattered my heart. I can still hear the echoes of the Gavel." Kate said.
