Happy #DemocracyDay.

This is a great time to review the performance of our current democratic ruling party.

Now do you remember these promises? Let's review them one by one.

#MakeChangeGreatAgain
The first promise is "ban all government officials from traveling abroad".

This was not fulfilled. Buhari spent a whopping 103 days in London, at a stretch for medical treatment.

He also kept the presidential jet at Stansted, accumulated parking fees

#MakeChangeGreatAgain
Second promise was "revival of Ajaokuta Steel Company".

No point wasting our time on that pipe dream.

My attention has been drawn to the fact that Buhari gave himself ACCOLADES in his #DemocracyDay Speech

It's normal.

Relegation bound Managers always find a way to defend their incompetence until they are sacked.
Buhari knows he has ruined Nigeria's Democracy

He knows that Rule of law, Human Rights, Separation of powers and other ingredients of a virile democracy are now in RELEGATION Zone.

But like every poor manager, he will sustain the delusion that 'All is well' until he is sacked
First, Buhari failed to appoint MINISTERS for 6 months.

Such TECHNICAL BLUNDER is FIRST in history of our Democracy

He was a coach without players way into a crucial match

Thankfully, SENATE has now included a time frame for such appointments in Constitution amendment Bill

DEMOCRAZY - THE DIRTY GAME.

Senator Badmus had a thriving political career. His hard work and determination made him stand out.

Does the name BADMUS ring a bell🔔?
(Check my pinned tweet for diary of a nymph PT2)

Issa Thread #DemocracyDay
Badmus passed several bills that were approved for the development of the nation.
When his tenure as a senator was over, he was urged by majority of the house to contest for the position of the senate president.
It was a flawless victory for him as his major rival stepped down. He was elected as the senate president unopposed. #DemocracyDay

Challenge Accepted. I have decided to Fact Check this thread full of outright lies, half truth and data misrepresentation. I will make 2013/2014 my base year for most of the comparative analysis so that we can know where we are coming from.

Claim 1- Nigeria's GDP growth rate is back up after the recession of 2016-17. It's important to note that it is yet to get back to about 3% growth we had just before hand over with lower oil prices then (than we do today). Fail. 2014 Growth rate. Source: CBN.
Claim 2 -The @MBuhari Administration’s priority Sectors of Agriculture and Solid Minerals maintained consistent growth throughout the recession.

FALSE. This is the chart for Agriculture GDP during the recession Source: NBS.

From June 2015 to December 2017, FG has spent N13.23tn, with only 12% (N1.58tn) going to capital expenditure. Source: CBN
#DemocracyDay
FG has spent more on recurrent expenditure than revenue collected. This is shows that contrary to the Fiscal Responsibility Act, FG is borrowing to fund recurrent expenditure.
