Time to talk about women's reproductive health and dispel a few myths. I'm not one for long threads, so bear with me here. I have a lot of thoughts on this.

The main thing I think gets lost in partisan rhetoric is that we ALL want there to be fewer abortions. But how?

Clearly, making abortion illegal didn't do much for these countries.

 Unsurprisingly, @PPFA does a lot to PREVENT abortions. And yet, the right loves to attack them. In fact, the vast majority of PP's work is reproductive health & prevention.

Which begs the question... Why does the right attack PP?

 While reading this @Slate article gave me hope, I have serious concerns. It's not 1990. The number of women who remember the days before #RoeVWade are fewer. I'm not sure the younger generation entirely understands the danger we are in.

But how DO we prevent abortions?
It might be a good idea now to look at what works. Colorado is leading the way here.

Which brings us to our current situation. Will the #GOP get rid of Roe V Wade with their last judge pick & lose their #GOTV incentive? Or will they do what they've always done and lie to their base while chipping away at #WomensRights ?

There are lot of considerations when evaluating the amendments on Florida's ballot this year. The League of Women Voters did some research and these are their recommendations.

I find this very odd that the anti-muslim #GOP would want to put even more money into charter schools. But despite their rampant xenophobia, they seem to love mother #Russia
So I guess they are ok with Gulen charter schools in #Florida

A few years ago, I taught in a different school where I had many kids from El Salvador. One student in particular was quite troubled. I mean. He was a real pain in the butt. But I never sent him out of class because I'm not that kind of teacher.

I just wrote a letter to my congressmen using Democracy.io
It's interesting that the Democrat had the choice of using #GunControl for a topic.
For the two Republicans who pretend to represent me, I had to use #education as #GunReform wasn't an option.

Even Justice Scalia agreed that the 2nd Amendment does not extend to military weapons in the hands of civilians. More guns in schools just means more shootings and more deaths.
