1/ #SociopathsInDC
There is an ominous feeling pulling at my back-brain, the primal fear center - like encroaching darkness in a realm where artificial light doesn't exist and reliance on tactile senses are my only defense against things that live in the dark and eat fingers.
2/ 2016, December - the Washington Post reports that the CIA reports that Russia tried to help Trump win the Presidential election. wapo.st/2gl1tC9?tid=ss…
3/ And they're pretty specific about it. Which kills me because we went through how many months of listening to that traitor go on and on about "no collusion" as we watched the WH fill in a notably disgusting nepotic fashion. (thread keeps breaking - apologies for reposts)
4/ Obama did want to make a thing of it, and should have regardless, but look at some of the actors who undermined the intel.
Devin Nunes
5/ And this one bothers me the most,
Mitch McConnell
6/ There were other republicans as well, and check out their reasoning -
7/ How ironic (or complicit) is that? That by NOT saying anything, their alleged concerns were the enabler of exactly what they claimed they wanted to prevent.
8/ Knowing what we do now about the GOP's apparently supernova-like penchant for sociopathic behaviour it's at least a fair point to speculate that even then the cast and crew involved knew precisely what was going on. But that's for another thread another time.
9/ Then there's the case of Kennedy's retirement from the #SCOTUS and McConnell's stolen seat being giddily handed to Trump.
10/ Absolutely right Ari, and it gets worse and worse as we go along here but for now consider this - is it conceivable that McConnell has been knee deep in #TrumpRussia since before the election in 2016... is it possible he was a willing actor in both cases on behalf of Russia?
11/ Either way to me the whole thing makes him an epic psychotic who's interests lay at best in corporations (dark money) and at worst a co-conspirator to the possible felling of the United States of America at the behest of the Kremlin. Regardless - entirely anti-democracy.
12/
Then this past July 4th, as America celebrated it's Independence from Brittish rule, we have the 'Delegation of 8' traveling to Russia to purportedly warn the Russians against election meddling. Utterly absurd. wapo.st/2lV5Cgh?tid=ss…
/14
The delegates:
Sens.
Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.)
Steve Daines (R-Mont.)
John Hoeven (R-N.D.)
Ron Johnson (R-Wis.)
John Kennedy (R-La.)
Jerry Moran (R-Kan.)
John Thune (R-S.D.)
and Rep. Kay Granger (R-Tex.)
/15
Even if one were to believe that their reasons for going were sound, and could say so with a straight face, it's abundantly abusive of American intellect to pretend this required an actual trip and on, of all days, our Independence Day. A clear kick in crotch.
16/ But that was merely the introduction to what was supposed to be a tension easing summit of Trump and Putin in Finland yesterday. I won't put you through reading anything but the cover of the New York Daily News kind of says it all.
17/ Another kick in the crotch.
And I neglected to mention that while the 'Delegation of 8' were in Russia the Senate released it's #TrumpRussia report, affirming, essentially, what the CIA had initially said. wapo.st/2lSoJYB?tid=ss…
18/ So where am I going with all of this?
Ultimately I'm concerned that America is trapped between republicans conspiring with Russia and with the wealthy .01% here at home who have such strong opinions about how our country is here to serve them that they'd sell us out to do it
19/ As to who's conspiring with who, exactly, and why, exactly - who the hell cares? The fact of the matter is, if you look at our demented GOP, knowing they've got hands in both Russia and the #Koch cookie jar - it's cause for concern. dailykos.com/story/2018/2/1…
20/ When the Citizen's v FEC started the flow of "dark money", it changed the political landscape forever. It's legal bribery. Here's Keith Olberman's prophetic special comment on it.
21/ I hear a lot of people say a constitutional convention will never happen because it's essentially a means for states to go over the heads of congress to amend the constitution via article V of the constitution - so they ignore the required quorum and have for years.
22/ They may very well HAVE been right, but now we have dark money influencing a majority GOP who is outright blatantly looting the American middle class on down - blatantly - openly - using dirty tricks to save time and rush legislature through and so on.
23/ And given that it's entirely possible for a convention of states to turn into a full rewrite of the constitution (I cite the very creation OF the constitution as my evidence), it's a dangerous possibility that I believe the wealthy could, and have, paid our GOP to process.
24/ So let's just suspend whatever disbelief we have for a moment and suppose that were a looming threat (five more states to go, I believe, and they have quorum) -- we'd have that on one side and the lot of those same people apparently in some arrangement with Russia.
25/ Additionally, our voting machines are all vulnerable to hacking.
26/ And there's reason to believe that hacking has in fact occurred but I'll refer you to election integrity watchdog @jennycohn1 on that - she's prolific and has a lot of material available.
27/ Instead I want to point you to what is happening right now, knowing everything we've just covered.
28/ Combine that we are at war with Russia, cyberwar perhaps but with real world consequences (critical infrastructure, for example - such as voting machines but also electrical grids, nuclear power plants and so on), and it's a disturbing feeling of standing in a kill box.
29/ - Russia attacking.
- Trump defending Russia - attacking domestic intelligence and federal law enforcement.
- A GOP gutting us like a fish and they're hungry enough to eat a horse
- Revelations seeming to reveal that *all* of it may have been in play for years
30/ - SCOTUS stacking
- Obvious psyops - ongoing
- Blatant and heartbreaking distractions thrown at us - dividing us - constantly and rapidly (is that Bannon's contrib or just std psyops?)
- The real potention for a SCOTUS rewrite
31/ I hope I didn't keep anybody else up tonight but this feeling like we're being squeezed from all sides and yet forcefully divided and exhausted to the point we can't just all rush the streets (shall I add #MSM blindery to the list?) -- it's insane.
33/ If we don't get too caught up in the flak and focus on doing whatever it takes, peacefully but actively, to stop this - we are toast. My opinion, fwiw - we need to be on the streets in masses - anywhere and everywhere but focusing on federal buildings, reps offices and DC.
34/ And we need to be coordinating a national strike with every union who will hear us (they've recently been hobbled badly - now is maybe a good time to see if they'd like to challenge that, yes?).
35/ And we need to remember that this is REAL.
The America we know may cease to exist for any of a host of reasons in the conspiratorial spaghetti outlined above (that's much deeper than I showed and very real) - gone.
/fin
So you know, if you can't leap out of your comfort zone for yourself, I get it. I really do. But think of your children? Other people's children? Hell - other countries that may and probably will fall if we do?
WE HAVE TO FIX THIS - STAT
PS Hadn't seen this yesterday - seems pertinant to my sentiment re McConnell.
@Lawrence@TheLastWord People seem surprised by this; find it an affront.
This GOP does 👏 not 👏 work 👏 for 👏 🇺🇸 👏 and has not since at least 2010 (citizen's united - the .1% was able to increase the pay for play $ from a trickle to a flood) and many have not for decades. And they are sociopaths.
@Lawrence@TheLastWord Prior to that they spent decades sneaking in tax loopholes for themselves (they increased the rate at which they got richer and we got poorer - little by little over years) and the the #Kochs have been quietly installing legislators of fortune from state to fed level.
@Lawrence@TheLastWord Their playbook is based on feudalism. The elite class is served by the peasants. And #CharlesKoch has been maybe one of the most brilliant men in history to have formulated the architecture for most of this decades long plan.
All require, at one point or another, connection to another device, which inevitably leads to connection to a PC or server which may or may not be hooked to the internet but most likely is.
And there is reason to believe hacking has occurred in the past (Gore, Ossoff, ..) -- though no hard evidence (difficult to get when the server is wiped after a suit is filed) to prove.
/1/ Is it not incumbant on those of us who know what a threat the #Kochs pose to America, and potentially all democracies, to find some way to let people know?

/2/ Trump is a real danger. There is absolutely no doubting that. But the true head of this snake lies squarely in the lap of the alt-right contract writers - those planning out the shit show and paying our politicians and media to make it happen.
/3/ If this were a disease, Trump would be the acute form while the alt-right would be chronic. We get rid of Trump and the chronic simply flare up another accute case as they hone in on our constitution. #NoConCon
The link below is a few months old. The "Balanced Budget Amendment" drive currently has 28 states. Just 7 states shy of the 35 required to compell congress to enact an #ArticleV#COS 2/

Additionally the landscape is a minefield of hackable voting machines.
