This is a great thread except it blows one HUGE point in making Trump personally the antagonist. There is a myth right now in America that getting rid of Trump will get rid of these problems. It won't - because these are not really his own ideas
1/
Recall an interview long ago with Larry King where he spoke of taking care of people. King said, 'universal healthcare?' and Trump agreed.
2/
And I'm not trying to paint Trump the saint - hell no, he is evil incarnate. But I am saying that he really doesn't have much interest in these things. Does anyone seriously conjure images of him up nights working out "health reform"?
3/
These ideas, and all of ink required to paper them for his signing come from the house and senate GOP and to them from special interests (#KochNetwork, Sheldon Adelson and more). I hear their lobbyists even write a significant amount of legislation - ready to sponsor & sign.
4/
Trump must be highlighted in his own right, I agree, and we need to be rid of him - he is dangerous to America in many ways all on his own.
5/
But this narrative of scooting everything into the immorality or stupidity of Trump is damaging us - fracturing us - misguiding us. It turns all eyes away from the true source of the problem and sets all hearts aglow at the idea of being rid of Trump.
6/
Even the key members of the GOP, at both federal and state levels, are not much in control of their donor owners. They're selected because they'll carry out the wishes of their donors, like bulldogs drawing blood at their owner's yells of "kill!"
7/
Unit this is properly addressed - we are on a crash course with economic devastation, tyranny, war and a rewrite of our very constitution. 1 of 2 posts on this in some depth. First - proof of concept from a trusted source -- 8/
Secondly a more in depth look at the problem from someone working very hard to educate people on the issue (as are many) Ali Adair @AliAdair22 9/

Next, for those who find it unbelievable that Trump is NOT behind many issues he pushes -- for a solid week after Trump's talk of moving the Israeli embassy, I heard nothing but what an idiot he was and how he knew nothing about history.
10/
The true narrative --
"Trump met with the party’s most prominent donor, Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, who has privately expressed frustration that the president hasn't moved the U.S. Embassy in Israel [...] to Jerusalem." politico.com/story/2017/10/… via @politico
11/
We need, BADLY, for our brightest, most diligent people - people such as yourself, to address the real narrative. I cannot even come up with enough words to express how badly.
12/
Because calling out Trump on his actions, potentially leading to his removal, does NOTHING to eliminate these problems. If anything it gives #ALEC and the #Kochs more time.
/13
Time to swoop in from the side like heros out to save a democracy by introducing a "Balanced Budget Amendment" that overrides 'those corrupt DC politicians - go right over their heads and allows #WeThePeople to set things right!'
14/
And along with their hundreds of thousands of astroturf promoters they win the people over with a resounding "YES!", then delegates are selected and the seemingly well intended Convention of States goes runaway and we end up with a Koch Constitution.
15/
And all of your most critical points pale to what they might actually do.
16/
The convention that led to our current constitution was written by the well intended and even they did so in private and modified the ratification process in-situ (something proponents of a #COS/#ConCon claim cannot happen).
17/
And it's not at all unthinkable that we might even end up with a monarchy. 18/
Please consider the importance of the narrative and that it be accurate. Else we may be doomed to 'life as usual' should we
rid ourselves of Trump and then go back to life as usual assuming all is well.
19/
Removing a cancerous tumor is frequently not the cure for the cancer, and mistaking or broadcasting it as such - a death sentence.

@Lawrence@TheLastWord People seem surprised by this; find it an affront.
This GOP does 👏 not 👏 work 👏 for 👏 🇺🇸 👏 and has not since at least 2010 (citizen's united - the .1% was able to increase the pay for play $ from a trickle to a flood) and many have not for decades. And they are sociopaths.
@Lawrence@TheLastWord Prior to that they spent decades sneaking in tax loopholes for themselves (they increased the rate at which they got richer and we got poorer - little by little over years) and the the #Kochs have been quietly installing legislators of fortune from state to fed level.
@Lawrence@TheLastWord Their playbook is based on feudalism. The elite class is served by the peasants. And #CharlesKoch has been maybe one of the most brilliant men in history to have formulated the architecture for most of this decades long plan.
All require, at one point or another, connection to another device, which inevitably leads to connection to a PC or server which may or may not be hooked to the internet but most likely is.
And there is reason to believe hacking has occurred in the past (Gore, Ossoff, ..) -- though no hard evidence (difficult to get when the server is wiped after a suit is filed) to prove.

There is an ominous feeling pulling at my back-brain, the primal fear center - like encroaching darkness in a realm where artificial light doesn't exist and reliance on tactile senses are my only defense against things that live in the dark and eat fingers.
2/ 2016, December - the Washington Post reports that the CIA reports that Russia tried to help Trump win the Presidential election. wapo.st/2gl1tC9?tid=ss…
3/ And they're pretty specific about it. Which kills me because we went through how many months of listening to that traitor go on and on about "no collusion" as we watched the WH fill in a notably disgusting nepotic fashion. (thread keeps breaking - apologies for reposts)
/1/ Is it not incumbant on those of us who know what a threat the #Kochs pose to America, and potentially all democracies, to find some way to let people know?

/2/ Trump is a real danger. There is absolutely no doubting that. But the true head of this snake lies squarely in the lap of the alt-right contract writers - those planning out the shit show and paying our politicians and media to make it happen.
/3/ If this were a disease, Trump would be the acute form while the alt-right would be chronic. We get rid of Trump and the chronic simply flare up another accute case as they hone in on our constitution. #NoConCon
