1. കേരളത്തിന്റെ 40% വെള്ളപ്പൊക്ക ഭീക്ഷണി നേരിടുന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ പെടുന്നതാണ്, എല്ലാ വർഷവും വലിയ തോതിലുള്ള നാശനഷ്ടങ്ങൾ ആണുണ്ടാകുന്നത് അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങളെല്ലാം തന്നെ താറുമാറാകും.വെള്ളപ്പൊക്ക നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനും ജലവിനിയോഗത്തിനുമായി പദ്ധതികൾ രൂപീകരിക്കേണ്ടതത്യാവശ്യമാണ് #KeralaFloods2018
2. അതിനാൽ പതിനൊന്നും പന്ത്രണ്ടും പഞ്ചവത്സര പദ്ധിതികളുടെ കാലയളവിൽ XI (2007-2012), XII (2012-2017), ഭാരത സർക്കാർ രണ്ട് പ്രധാന പദ്ധതികൾ നടപ്പിലാക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു.

2. ഫ്ലഡ് കൺട്രോൾ ആന്റ് മാനേജ്മെന്റ്.(ഫ്ലഡ് ഫോർകാസ്റ്റിംഗ് സ്കീം)
1. ഫ്ലഡ് മാനേജ്മെന്റ് പ്രോഗ്രാം FMP.
2. ഫ്ലഡ് കൺട്രോൾ ആന്റ് മാനേജ്മെന്റ്.(ഫ്ലഡ് ഫോർകാസ്റ്റിംഗ് സ്കീം)
3. FMP-യുടെ കീഴിൽ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾക്കു 517 പ്രോജക്ടുകൾക്ക് അംഗീകാരം നൽകി, ₹12174 കോടി അനുവദിച്ചു.
2016 മാർച്ച് വരെയുള്ള രേഖകൾ പ്രകാരം കേരളത്തിന് അംഗീകാരം കിട്ടിയ 4 പദ്ധിതികൾക്കു ₹279.74 കോടിയാണ് അനുവദിച്ചത് ഇതുവരെ റിലീസ് ചെയ്തത് ₹118.9 കോടി പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ പദ്ധിതികൾ ഒന്നുമില്ല.

Red alert issued as the water-level in Idamalayar dam has swelled. KSEB has informed that the shutter gates of Idamalayar dam will be opened at 6 AM tomorrow. People living on the banks of river Periyar must exercise caution. However this is no cause for panic.
If the water-level rises up to 170 m before 6 am tomorrow (9-8-2018), then one shutter will be operated to release 82 cumecs of water. The increase in water level from this release will be limited and is estimated to be contained within the river banks.
The Ernakulam district collector has informed that all necessary preparations have been made. Updates will be provided through his facebook page, facebook.com/dcekm/
