A handy list from Society for Emergency Medicine - India

Prepared by Dr. Danish

Your house isn't your home anymore...

But let us help each other to rebuild...
1. Enter your hiuse at moening itseld when there is daylight.
2. Do not take children and elderly when you enter your house for the first time.

3. While entering make sure to wear thick boots or shoes as most common injury is trauma from sharp objects.

As you can see the flood hit areas in Kerala, they are all rich, almost all. Only 10% may be poor.
They don't need any help in cash or kind.
Please stop sending food or other things.
Security forces are doing the needful.
All they need is labour force, once the water recedes.
Kerala has no labours, though they pay high wages.
Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, masons, domestic helpers are needed urgently by Keralites.
Commies & Kerala Govt are begging for funds for their own luxuries.
Most of the development in Kerala is done by common people.
Even the International airports are the contribution of common citizens in Kerala.

#KeralaFloodRelief thread. Pls bear with me. I know many of you have sent relief materials to Kerala. But please don't stop sending clothes, pulses, condiments, napkins, food etc. There are more than 7 lk people in relief camps across Kerala. Many don't have a house to go bk to.
As we go back to our offices tomorrow, these people will still be living in camps. In places in Alappuzha district the water won't recede for a few more days. In districts like Idukki and Wayanad, houses have been destroyed completely.
Many people will need to stay in these camps for a few more days. Which means the govt and other citizens need to ensure that all of them get good food and medication. And when they go back home, the process of rebuilding their lives will begin.

3. Having noticed some discussions about an acute shortage of sanitary napkins in Kerala, I DM’d @4eo for more details. In short, we decided to pitch in. I sent a WhatsApp message to Mandeep Singh of Sootheheathcare.com on Saturday morning, and he immediately called back.

There are many charities and organisations collecting funds for #KeralaFloodRelief - thanks to everybody who organised / donated, you're all awesome!

I personally donated to @CMOKerala 's Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF).

Why did I choose CMDRF?
Kerala CMDRF is operated by the Finance Secretary GoK, through the CMDRF bank account in SBI Trivandrum.

Does this mean that this IAS officer can operate this on his whims?

No!

This financial authority is delegated to officers in each tier of CMDRF.

#KeralaFloodRelief
Does this mean beneficiaries have to go and meet these officers and/or local politicians to get CMDRF funds?

No!

CMDRF is completely direct to the beneficiary; and beneficiaries are paid out via direct bank transfer.

Before spewing venom against PM Modi & propagating lies, just learn who sent all rescue teams to Kerala?
Anyone from madrassa or lslamic orgs volunteered?
Your @CMOKerala is just watching helplessly.
@Beingind
Kerala provided Rs.5cr to Pakistan for flood relief.
The @CMOKerala noted that the floods had caused considerable hardships to the people of Pakistan. Hence the decision to provide the assistance.

Does he know the pathetic condition of common man in Kerala Or taken for granted?

It started heavily even in Thiruvananthapuram. Heard that Mudirapuzha arm of Periyar receiving heavy rainfall and Madupetty Dam shutters are opened. Mullaperiyar is at 136.60 ft at 12noon today. #KeralaFloods
The water from Madupetty Dam will flow through Munnar to Kallarkutty and Lower Periyar Dams and will join Bhoothankettu Barrage in Periyar River..
Mudirapuzha arm of Periyar is used to receive heavy rainfall. This sub basin along with Mullaperiyar catchment created great havocs in 1924 and 1961 floods.
