Everyone focuses on #Antifa and #MAGA folks clashing in the street.
This is silly street theater, a simple steam valve on entertainment and and circuses.
If you're outraged by political street violence, you're enthralled by theater.

Hey #Portland, it's been almost two weeks since e-scooters hit the streets so we thought it might be a good time to remind you of a few #scootpdx rules of the road.
1: E-scooters must be WALKED on sidewalks. Riding is only allowed in bike and travel lanes.

Patriot Prayer is the second main group rallying today in #PDX. Here’s some background on the group and their leader.
Patriot Prayer is a far-right group based in the Pacific Northwest. It has organized a series of protests in established centers of liberal politics, all with the intent of attempting to provoke a violent response from far-left antifascists.

The group was founded by Joey Gibson in 2016 to counter allegedly rampant street violence against Trump supporters. Left-wing protesters, Gibson said in a recent speech, “are literally foaming at the mouth with pure hatred toward us, and it is spiritual.”
The two main groups rallying today in #PDX — Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys. Here’s some background on the Proud Boys.
The Proud Boys are an @splcenter-designated hate group established in the midst of the 2016 presidential election by Gavin McInnes, who co-founded VICE, but was removed from the company over a decade ago.

The Proud Boys are self-described “western chauvinists” who adamantly deny any connection to the racist “alt-right,” insisting they are simply a fraternal group spreading an “anti-political correctness” and “anti-white guilt” agenda. splcenter.org/hatewatch/2017…
This Saturday the alt-right white nationalist Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys will be having a rally in #Portland #Oregon and everyone needs to find a way to show them how unwelcome they are. Several rallies are planned, so you can find the one that speaks to you.
Some are a safe distance away. Rose City Antifa is also at Waterfront Park where Proud Boys & Patriot Prayer are planning their armed rally
With five rally options (at least) to choose from, there is no excuse for #PDX folks to stay home. Show the white nationalists they are not welcome in Portland.

Imagine if the largest number of people ever turn out, imagine if 75,000 like the number who showed up for Obama in 08 showed up. Do you think the Proud Boys would ever come back? No, they wouldn't. We could rid ourselves of this filth with nonviolence if we show up in numbers
I don't want Antifa doing our job. We need to be the ones standing up. We need @tedwheeler, @PortlandChamber @pdxpoliceunion @JwJpdx @SEIULocal503 @Oregon_AFSCME, @ILWULocal5, and all the rest. Every decent Portlander should be there
So unless you're dead inside yourself, the photos of the student walkouts should at the very least trigger a reaction that they are too young to bear the burden of the adults who were charged with their safety.
And of course they're young. But these are the faces of disappointed rage, disbelief and sorrow that the adults in the room were petulant greedy brats.
For myself and many of the adults I know, our kids were among those who walked out; our kids are the same age as the Stoneman Douglas victims, and the Columbine victims, and all the other high school shootings since Columbine.
