I feel I should say a quick word about my support for Alhaji Sule Lamido.
First of, I don’t arrive at decisions like this lightly and since 2015 - ever before meeting him, I’ve had my eyes on him politically.
And then I looked at the political landscape and also at my PDP.

I believe strongly that PDP lost its soul at some point under Obasanjo and moved far away from what the founding fathers intended.
Out of power, I felt it was a good time to reset and looking at all the founding fathers, only Lamido in my eyes could restore the founding values.

Looking into the polity, I felt PDP needed to strongly divide Buhari’s base - and of all the men in the PDP at that time, only Sule Lamido it seemed to me could break it.
He had a solid record of performance in Jigawa from all the records I saw but it was in 2017 I saw it myself

After looking, what will you do?
If Wike needs convention in PH to impose someone because he’ll book all hotels, how did he manage to ‘impose’ Secondus in Abuja in 2017?

As far back as 1993, Abiola was housing delegates in Niger and Abuja for SDP convention in Jos - hotel accomodation is the least of delegate problems when it comes to party primaries.

And if anyone is imposed, to think that more popularised aspirants like Atiku or Saraki and party-based ones like Lamido and Makarfi will keep quiet is foolish.

People overrate Wike as a power-base in the PDP and while I understand that it’s partly due to how vocal he is but also because people assume the PDP is like the APC with power-bases built around single individuals.
And a lot of misconceptions are now being introduced.

That Wike singlehandedly imposed Ali Modu Sheriff on the PDP as Chairman or that he did the same with Uche Secondus is false - and I’m shocked that matters of recent history can be twisted to suit narratives so conveniently.

If there was any Governor who championed Sheriff for Chairman the most, it was Gov. Fayose - and he didn’t do it alone, all other PDP Govs under the chairmanship of Gov. Mimiko agreed.
