Okay. As someone who grew up in a destitute town that used to thrive on mining and collapsed years ago, I need to briefly fucking re-litigate 2016 because I feel like people STILL don't goddamn get it.
Bill Clinton devastated a lot of these communities. So there's a ton of resentment there. But let's be perfectly clear: NOT ALL OF THAT WAS BY DIRECTLY DESTROYING FUCKING JOBS. So you can't just say, "but he didn't ACTUALLY destroy their jobs." Because fuck you.
A lot of these communities were already suffering when Bill Clinton came along. But he threw salt in their wounds with things like the welfare reform bill and the criminal justice bill. This took already hurt communities and devastated them.
A friend challenged me to write a short story set in the #iHunt universe inspired by the Mastodon social media platform. I did, I think it’s fun.

I’m looking through notebooks of old #iHunt material, mining for a writing advice book I’m writing. Stumbled on this ancient doodle of Lana. It’s not great. But it’s history and context. Which all good myths need. 
I also found the sketch for the cover of the second full-length #iHunt novel I’ve been planning for a while. Not sure if it’ll happen, but I have a full outline and about 30 pages that look pretty tight.
When I was first planning #iHunt, I wrote some diaries/blogs as Lana to get a feel for her as a person.
I want to talk briefly about being a small-time indie author who happens to be hard left, and #BoycottAmazon. It's fucking tough. But I want to be real here.
I want to just sell directly to my fans. I'd give anything to do even comparably as well as I do through marketplaces like Amazon. The thing about Amazon is, it's a way to get sales that you otherwise wouldn't get. And this isn't something to scoff at.
I've had about, give or take, 100 people ask me if I sell my books directly because they don't want to support Amazon. So I offer a direct sale option where I get all the proceeds but for credit card processing fees.
I had someone ask me about gender and sexuality representation in #MoreThanNight. My official stance: there may be some cis hetero characters. But only if it makes sense. I won’t just add them for quotas or for tokenism and never if it’s at the story’s expense.
And look. I’m not opposed to cishets. I just don’t think they have to be shoehorned into everything. I’m not a bigot. I am okay with straight marriage! Jeez
Actually in my second novel, #iHunt, the character Denny was cishet. I didn’t mention it in the text, but it was intended.
