This @WaffleHouse business giving me anxiety. So much that I had to write about it. Because #Wafflehouse demonstrates in the most perfect way how #whitesupremacy is the decider of whether black folks will be feted or humiliated. And they've done both in 24 hours. Perfectly.
You have a tale of two @WaffleHouse s. In one a black man is celebrated for taking out an armed shooter (brought to you by #whitesupremacy). Everyone cheers for the black man who cleans up the horrific mess brought to you by entitlement and shitty gun laws.
At the root of it all, America's gun laws are the way they are because #whitesupremacy feels it must arm itself for surely the people of color it has mistreated will one day rise up and treat whiteness with the same disdain #whitesupremacy has held for blackness.

There's a distinct lack of coverage on how the #WaffleHouse shooting was likely racially-motivated.

All of the dead were people of color; the shooter was a white man with a history of white supremacy.

If we can't even talk about this, it won't ever be fixed.
The shooter's history is sometimes brought up but as a "well, that's interesting" footnote. Coverage is much more interested in the fact that he was mostly naked during the shooting
There was a white supremacist Nazi rally in Georgia the day before the shooting.

Naziism and white supremacy are on the distinct rise in this country but the movements are being treated with kid gloves by or even just ignored in the media.
