The public should be aware that @citizen_gavel lawyers have been on ground since @SirWoley’s arrest with 56 others. We warned about the parade but this was violated by the Police. We are at the Magistrate court Yaba as we speak watching the confusion of the prosecution team.
They Magistrate is yet to read the charges but there are factions from the Police prosecution team that came with another warrant to return the 57 to Anti Cultism and stop the court process. This confusion is queer. Our people are on ground & we will update you. #ReformPoliceNG
Our intent is to plead for bail of the suspects and hand them all over to their respective families then we can follow the case the state have against them but some people have other riotous idea. Our mandate is clear however that the human rights of these ones remain sacrosanct.
There is a village of difference between fighting for constitutional rights of a generality (all humans in a state) based on overwhelming common ground as against the campaign on rights based on personal preferences of a minority group.
From experience in my years of research that birthed the #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG Campaign, the review of laws is not a one man job. It takes a lot of collective effort & engagement bordering on political will of the generality. I don’t represent folks who look like me but All.
I’m familiar with the worn out strategy of targeting string voices and guilting them into the support of LGBTQ under the veil of Human Rights. Kindly note that in as much as I don’t use titles, I’m extensively learned in psychology and anthropology. These tricks won’t work.
I’m sure most are aware that I can’t be bullied or cowed into submission. I respond only to superior arguments & if you don’t have that please shun ad hominem. We work on the streets & know the confidence with which innocent citizens are attacked by authorities running amok.
Unguided pronouncement by authority figures make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants. We are trying to curb homicides, law enforcers are mostly ignorant of the law but are quick to latch into vague pronouncement that gives them leverage to commit crimes.
To top that selfish individuals will exploit every opportunity to want to prove that the rights or minority groups trumps the rights of generality even when there is no comparison or profiling in the intervention process. We are indeed our own enemy as a people. Let’s be guided.
I don’t know what you have been told but we are not Reforming SARS. An overhaul is ongoing and a holistic Reformation of the Police is ongoing. The officers in SARS will go through psychological evaluation & polygraph tests. Those who excel will be drafted into a new Unit.
It will be unwise for this new unit to be called any name in relation to SARS. That memory must die to us all for a fresh start. The new unit of elite squad will only respond to distress calls pertaining Violent Crimes (Armed Robbery & Kidnapping). This is what we stand for.

Taken the facts of the case into consideration, there was a report of a boisterous Gay Party in Egbeda Area. As you know Police are meant to uphold and enforce the law. The party was raided and the suspects undergoing processing under the directive of the CP.
Our Lawyer from @citizen_gavel is on ground. We have spoken with the Area Commander and contacted the CP. The complainant in the tweet didn’t know he attended a GayParadeEvent until moments ago. He is straight with a Girl friend to back his claim & void of suspicious mannerism.
This is an unfortunate incident that must be forestalled in future. The root cause is being handled and this case is being investigated with the principal culprit brought to book. The lives of every citizen matter. The IGP X Squad will be touring the states from Next week. 😞
The Police Commissioner in Osun updated us via the Force PRO that the rogue DSP that fired the shot is in custody and will be arraigned soon. It is still unclear if he is a part of the SARS team but what is clear is that he wasn’t in Uniform and this is an Astynomicide

The excesses of some unscrupulous SARS operatives landed in Billiri town of Gombe State where report has it that a girl accused a young man, Emmanuel Luka popularly known as "Gatuso" of stealing her phone and so went ahead to call in her boyfriend who is a SARS operative.
Before you know it they'd taken the young man away and tortured him to death.
The same phone was later found with someone else, unfortunately an innocent young man got killed. Her own neighbor for that matter.

Barrister @NwangumaOkey on this imbroglio aptly reduced his thoughts into writing. “The SARS is a section of the Nigeria police under the Force Criminal Investigation Department and specifically charged 'to combat armed robbery and other heinous crimes nationwide.'
But SARS in all parts of Nigeria have gained embarrassing notoriety tainting the image of the Nigerian Police locally and internationally, and should either be scrapped or comprehensively reformed to conform to modern standards of policing or human rights-compliant policing.
