Fifth Division to be led only by #FSA leaders with the troops they want to recruit (1). #SRO | URGENT - This Fifth Corp / Division to be only answering to #Russia (contrary to the first attempt, recently dissolved, that was linked to #Syria'n regime forces). Yes, here we are : a large "#FSA" army, under #Russia protection and command, is now formed in S-#Syria (2).

#SRO | HISTORY | DID YOU KNOW ? - #Assad loyalists resisted for months in a small medieval citadel and few houses in #Harem in 2012 ? Depiste four assaults betwn July 15 and December 25, 2012 (last and successful #FSA assault), one hundred loyalists resisted without any hope (1). #SRO | HISTORY | DID YOU KNOW ? - When #FSA entered Harem town, near #Turkey | #Syria border, the local security branch and an army battalion refused to defect and decided to resist. In August 2012, the road to Harem was cut : the loyalist there were completely isolated (2).

#SRO - What happened in Kusham area is the first real and strong #US action to protect its interests, the #SDF and its military advisors... Be sure this will reinforce #SDF recuitment policy and popularity... (1) #SRO - Since weeks, as #Afrin offensive began and since #US administration thretened to cut support of clashes against #Turkey, recruitment for #SDF ranks was decreasing seriously (it was clear for #Raqqa governorate and #Manbij area) (2).

#SRO - One of the main actions led by nationalist #FSA, in its origins, was the Battle for #Atarib. Another #Syria rebellion historian and searcher, @Endemic22 already cover area and groups fighting there between February 2012 and July 2012 (1). #SRO - This battle, led by Liwa Diri al-Thawra, and Liwa Shuhada al-Atarib, both are some of oldest N-#Syria #FSA brigades, both merged since this time in other groups, was the best exemple of a strong battle won only by #FSA without islamists or jihadis support (2).

#SRO - If we compare Day 1 to Day 16, the onlyreal and interesting advances by #Turkey suppletives and tanks are Bersaya and Bulbul town. It took three weeks for that. The maximum advance "deep" is 5.5 km (1). #SRO - In the same time, to compare, #Turkey, in three weeks of Euphrates Shield, took control of a city, #Jarablus, a town, #Rai and maximum extent deep of 11 km. #Turkey clearly believed #YPG were weak as #IS... What a mistake... (2).

#SRO - #YPG and #YPJ are showing impressive resistance at #Afrin borders. Pro-#Turkey activists recognizing it. Note Jaysh al-Thuwar and #SDF #FSAare still stationned at #Tal_Rifaat and Shahbah frontlines, so, not involved (1). #SRO - #YPG and #YPJ had years to prepare themselves to this expected move by #Turkey. But if we note the #YPG resistance is strong, yes, the #Syria'n mostly turkmen factions are also so... weak. Without #Turkey Leopard and airstrikes, no advances (2).

#SRO - This a map, made with few time (as working on others rebellion groups studies) showing how the #FSA led by Liwa al-Tawhid made its push from #Azaz, #Mare and #Bab toward #Aleppo between July 21 and July 30 (1). #SRO - As shown, #Assad regime lines were prepared to resist in strategic points : Nubl and Zahra, Menagh (that resisted), Aleppo prison and Taanah air defense battalion. But the main mistake was to lave Sheikh Najjar without any defenselines (2).

#SRO - It must be remembered how #Assad regime army was defeated so fast in few weeks. In July 10, 2012, Anadan was falling into Liwa Ahrar a-Shamal control. Liwa al-Tawhid was advancing to Bab. In July 23, most of E-#Aleppo city was under their control (1). #SRO - SRO can document that #Assad regime, between July 8 and July 24, 2012, lost more than 23 tanks in #Aleppo countryside and city. The biggest losses at this period in a so fast rebellion offensive (2).

#SRO - As Encyclopedia about to be finished (after 5 years of hard work, on more than 3200 groups fighting in #Syria), some chapters will present some important battles (or symbolical) during the war (1). #SRO - One of the most important will be "Maarakat al-Furqan", the codename of the huge operation led by Liwa al-Tawhid that led to the capture of most of southern and eastern areas of #Aleppo city itself between July 21 and August 22, 2012 (2).

#SRO | ANALYSIS - Strangely (or not), the only important group inside rebellion factions in N-#Syria to be sceptical about #Turkey use of rebels is... #HTS (1). #SRO | ANALYSIS - Despite escorting here and there some #Turkey vehicles, #HTS became, slowly, the main defender of the #Syria rebellion independance... (2).

#SRO| ANALYSIS - Now years ago, #SRO was the first to warn how #Turkey was creating a new "Northern #Cyprus" in N-#Syria. All facts now confirming it : many roads and buildings in #Bab pocket now linked to #Kilis province (1). #SRO | ANALYSIS - The #Turkey army, under military diktat or under #AKP full powers, is applying exactly the same steps : "protecting" a population (turks in #Cyprus, reinstalling turkmensin N-#Syria) and installing military bases (2).

Just about a fact that all of us knew about for weeks : the massive withdrawal, without important losses for rebellion factions, frm E-#Idlib was well prepared by #Turkey (1). Wer'e going to see now frontlines to stabilize with regime to concentrate firepower on Liwa al-Aqsa [Wilayat Hama] remnants and rebels to fortify M5 side under #Turkey new "border posts" (2).
